Hi guys!!
Today I'm reviewing and giving you my honest opinion on the Kmart Anko Garment Steamer which retails for $49.
I'm not a huge fan of ironing so I've been wanting to try out a clothes steamer as a replacement for the longest time and I'm so excited to test it out and share my opinions with you today.

Well I’ve used it and it’s really good. Especially for rayon etc. I’ll probably still iron certain things but it will be so handy for so many garments I have.

Bought the garment steamer today ! So much easier than traditional ironing! I thought the steam pressure would be a little stronger ....It doesnt get every single crinkle out but for $49 it does a pretty good job

Oh it’s SO much easier right?! I tend to go over the same spot a couple times if there’s a stubborn wrinkle that won’t come out 😝 I’ve only ever used this steamer so it’d be interesting to see how it compares to more expensive ones 💜💜

@@JessandTribe i had a laura star that was given to me as a wedding present i think it retails these days for about $600 ! The laura star has much higher steam pressure and the results are just like youd get from taking your clothes to a dry cleaners but who has that kind of money to spend on a unit like that? Im happy enough with the kmart one especially because it was only $49 it does a good enough job that you dont walk out the door looking like you just rolled out of bed haha

Hahaha true that!! 😂 Wowsers... I constantly burn my hands with the Kmart steamer... I couldn’t imagine using anything more powerful than that!! They’d probably drop off!! 🤣

I just got one for Mother’s Day. Can’t wait to use tomorrow. I’ll let you know as I have a really good iron. But it’s those hard to iron tiered tops and frilled edges are so time consuming

I bought this and loved it until just after the 12 month warranty expired, the clips that hold the hanger stand in place broke. So they can't be fixed. I now have to try to find some sort of stand so I can hang the clothes while using it.

Oh no!! Mine went in really easily… I’m not too sure whether they’re different now as this was four years ago. Try giving it a twist while you’re doing it and if not, you may need to exchange it for another. Hope you work it out!! 💜💜

There are several vertical garment steamers that have written in their descriptions "one-year lifespan." Are all garment steamers like that or just those ones? And is that short lifespan related to the fact that it's a vertical steamer?

how does it go with crinkly basic tshirts?? i spend sooooooo much time ironing all my tshirts and then accidentally ironing crinkles into it that are near impossible to get out - basically im the worst ironer in the world haha.

Hahaha... ironing is hard work my friend!! I can’t imagine ever going back to one. This one is great for getting out basic wrinkles, anything really stubborn you’ll have to work at and even then it may not come out completely. It serves its purpose all for me 💜💜

Might be a good idea to use demineralised water as the cleaning sounds horrendous. We have really hard water where I live and it stops corrosion and excessive cleaning of it. Only if you can afford it. But saves buying a new one if it lasts longer.

Thanks for watching! Yes it work on my jeans and jackets… just need to take your time and go over it slowly on harder/ thicker fabrics 💜💜

You have to try the Kmart velvet hangers! You will wonder how you lived without them! They don't put hanger stretches in your shirts and things don't slip off them.. Also I have to ask, love your slides in the video, where are they from? Love your videos xx

First electric iron was invented in 1882 but places like Haberdasheries and dry-cleaners wanted something that would take less time so in the early 1900s these steam cleaners were invented but weren't available for homes till 1920s or 1930s I just bought an iron but my suit jackets etc are dry clean only and they are hard to iron so I was looking at steamers and found one at the sake price as yours but from big w I had to pay a little extra for postage but it will be well worth it because dry cleaners can be expensive and I lice in a small town so on a KZfaq channel I watch about men's suit wear etc they said get a steamer and with regular uses of it you can avoid multiple trips to the dry cleaners and with the steamers your won't run the risk of ruining or burning the garments I can't wait for mine to arrive

I got it last week and it's been amazing ill still use my iron for some stuff but for suit pants suit jacket suit vests etc this is perfect for dry cleaning can be expensive and dry cleaning is really a wet wash they just don't use washing powers etc and the channel i watch on gentlemen's wear said most of the time dry cleaning isn't necessary a steamer will do the job at a much lesser cost mine from big w was the same price as yours and just in a week of gotten more than my moneys worth out of it

Instructions say to "start at bottom. Steam will rise along the inside and outside of fabric, removing wrinkles "

Yes it’s still going strong and I much prefer it over ironing. I find it quicker and easier but it’s all down to personal preference 💜💜
