Man I miss wrestling. Your breakdowns are concise and fluid. I like how you break down the situation leading up to the moves too. "So I have obi in this position" rather than "start here". Feels natural. You're a great coach!

I hit this in my first bjj tournament after my second opponent saw me run a clinic with your russian -> fireman's series in my previous match. Thank you for these videos during and after my time as a wrestler, my teammate was asking me how I hit it and it was like I watched this video just a few days ago rather than almost 10 years ago

I havent found a video anywhere to the counter to this throw Ive gotten throw by this so many times. Can you make a video? Or advice? Lol.

If you can scout your opponents ahead of time and breakdown their top scoring techniques you will know if the arm throw is a threat. You should also work on being aggressive with your opponents without leaning on them. Practice hand fighting and circling your opponent for setups. Never post and lean, collar tie and lean or underhook and lean. You can also practice hipping in and limping your arm when an arm throw is initiated. Another defensive technique is jumping around your opponent on the arm throw side to get past the hips where you will have an angle to fight him off. Quick reaction time is essential so you have to drill these defenses. Hope it helps!

When I go for the inside tie, how would i stop someone going in for a bear hug?

If you have the inside bicep ties your opponent is not going to be able to bear hug you because you control the inside position. If he tries to reach for a bear hug you can spread your elbows and push him back with your inside tie to prevent the attack.

This move seems awesome when you do it. I feel like this could be a dangerous move to accidentally end up on bottom. Well for me lol

In freestyle and Greco wrestling we have a slip rule so if the throw doesn't succeed the ref will restart you at neutral. But in some martial arts and collegiate wrestling it can be tricky to use it!

You have 2 options once the throw begins. If you feel it coming you can go with a hard tuck and roll and pop your hips to roll him through to his back. Another option is to shrug your arm to get slack on it for room to jump around to the arm throw side and stop the action.

Been watching you young man, very good positions/transitions. This move is a classic Judo arm throw technique; which (if not wrestling tourny) can be even greater impact if standing, keep the arm, then go into hapkido full arm lock, or twist/drop into an arm bar. Impressed enough by your dedication to subscribe. 🤌👊🙏🤝
