Talking about the big muscles of the knee joint. I waffled on long enough covering the quadriceps femoris and hamstring muscles, but didn't include some of the other muscles that act at the knee, like gastrocnemius and plantaris. I'll cover those when we get to the leg (calf).

Dr. Webster, you saved my life! I’m in med school in the US, our anatomy lab became virtual which makes no sense to me at all. If it weren’t for your videos, I’d fail the course. Sending you all the respect and appreciation that my heart can afford

Oh yeah, forgot to say: It SO USEFUL when you tell when we can PALPATE certain muscles and bones on ourself. That's a really good way to understand it and remember it. I remember from nursing school, I rehersed all the names of the bones when I was in the shower xD "Now I'm washing fibula and behind it is the tibia ..." All best

Hi Sam. These videos are amazing. If I just had had you as my anatomy teacher at nursing school, I would never have dropped out. This is super useful, I use it to understand which muscles I use when swimming and doing yoga, and I'm going to use them a lot, when I'm drawing people. It's superior to know anatomy, when you draw people. Thanks again, all best Peter

I’m loving all these videos, while I’m trying to self diagnose my lumber and Si joint pains. Which then give pain and weakness to my rectus femoris, also abduction weakness. So on a run at 4km, 14km, or 34km (it’s just random 🤷🏽‍♂️). I have to then swing my left leg round like an unstable pendulum 😂 every single running stride. With a lot of pain and sometimes total numbness. 😮

Love your videos! I have a question: Do you think having a pinched sciatic nerve is more likely to lead to a hamstring tear? Or that a pinched femoral nerve is more likely to lead to a quadriceps injury? If a patient were to present with a hamstring tear, especially a non-acute event would the doctor be thinking to examine for possible lumbar spine issue?

My father recently got affected his right leg by a mild stroke. Through he is recovered and walking without any assistance his right leg turns to the sideway and position up front when walking and says because he couldn’t bend his knee when walking. Do you have any hunch what part of his lower limbs would have been affected by this move, so I can concentrate giving him more physiotherapeutic attention on that part of the lower limbs pls.
