Technically, “Mortimer” was never actually Mickey’s “real name”. It was Walt Disney’s first choice, but when he ran it by his wife Lilly, she despised the name and said it was too “pompous”. Walt elected to use “Mickey” instead.

20 seconds in and I was already “NOPE, NOPE, NOPE.” Mickey’s real full name is “Michael Theodore Mouse”. “Mortimer” WAS indeed what Walt initially named him, but his wife Lillian didn’t like the sound of it, so he changed it to “Mickey”. “Mortimer Mouse” is Mickey’s arrogant and egotistical rival for Minnie’s affections. And no, there is no relation to Mickey Rooney - that’s a myth/false.

Mortimer was the original drawing at first but Walts wife didn't like it so that's how Mickey came about. Mortimer is a completely different character.

Mickey’s name is not Mortimer! Mortimer is the name Walt originally picked for him but his wife Lily suggested Mickey instead. Mortimer later became a different character.

No, Mickey's real name isn't Mortimer. Yes, it was originally going to be Mickey's name, but Walt's wife had it changed during the development and thus Mickey's name is Mickey (and is why Mortimer eventually became Mickey's rival).

Actually, Mickey's name is Mickey. Many have theorized it's short for Michael but that has never been confirmed. He was going to be named Mortimer but Walt Disney's wife convinced him Mickey was a better fit. There are three Mortimer Mouses I know of: Minnie's uncle, Mickey's rival in love, and Mickey's nephew who is usually just called Morty.

Mickey’s full name isn’t Mortimer. It was GOING to be Mortimer, but that is now an entirely different character as seen in Mickey’s Rival and House of Mouse. His full name is Michael.

I'm 16 seconds into this video and already screaming fake news! Mickey's name is not Mortimer. I thought it was a pretty commonly know fact that Walt was thinking of calling him Mortimer, but his wife convinced him to call him Mickey instead. Mortimer then became Mickey's nemesis.

Partially wrong for Mickey. Originally he was to be named Mortimer, but that soon changed, due to Lillian Disney, Walt’s wife despising the name. Mickey’s name was later changed to Michael Theodore aka Mickey though the middle name might be a rumor. Mickey is an older nickname for Michael or Michelle. Mortimer was later used for both Mickey’s rival and Minnie’s Uncle.

Dang, what a game! I knew EVERY SINGLE ONE of the Disney movies through the, clues, Sharon, Jaime and Izzy's reactions kept me in hysterics, you TRULY got me off-guard with that venison moment under the cloche so badly yet want to try it myself and I couldn't get enough of Sharon's shirt! She had that MADE? I was honestly calling her "Sharperware" or "Shupperware" up until that point. 😂 There's SO many meanings to take into account hearing those names, so I'll leave it there.

Those are not Mickey and Minnie’s real names. They were their former/original names. Mortimer was later given to another character that Mickey rivaled.

For the poison vile you should have two viles that look the same but one is the bad stuff while the other one is full of soda or juice and make them choose which one to drink.
