Buddy, as of April 17th, he had the second best defensive plus minus in the NBA, opponents shot 53% in the paint when he was the closest defender (better than AD, Wemby, and Bam). He stepped up huge for Mitch taking on the primary defensive 5 assignment while hurt. To say he’s a no show on D is silly.

No one on the knicks has been in the top 10 for MPG for 2 years now. Mitchell Robinson (an injury prone player) reinjures his ankle, Jaime Jaquez dislocates julius randles shoulder, and OG anunoby got elbow tendonopathy. Randle and OG went out on the same day, mitch a month prior. Somehow all of these freak injuries get blamed on Thibs when none of these guys were playing heavy minutes, it makes absolutely no sense.

I think Bridges is a great fit because he plays both ways. He showed he can consistently score 20+ as well. With him added to Brunson, OG, and Randle that’s a strong core of scoring. Ya don’t understand what being on a team like the knicks can do for bridges. It literally gives him more opportunities for better shots and less attention on him. Lets remember he was the only solid player on the Nets. Now a team playing the knicks has to respect Brunson, Randle, bridges and God willing OG anunoby!! Let alone the knicks role players who clearly held it down in the playoffs.

Base on what they were able to accomplish, the addition of Mikal Bridges does give New York a chance to make noise, I don’t believe they will win the East or a championship but base on what they were able to accomplish with a number one guy in Brunson and now with a guy like Mikal Bridges who is also Thibs type of player, now they don’t need Josh Hart offensively like that, it is a bit of cause to pause with this team. They don’t have superstars that are seen as superstars but those players believe they are superstars and superstars in their roles.

You have to be a bit more than a casual to understand why the value was there for the Knicks to trade those picks for Bridges. The way the CBA is today you can't have more than maybe 2 max contracts on your team, Bridges may not be an all-star as of today, but his contract is VERY team friendly. If you compare it to Paul George for example hes being paid 30+ more mil a year. These types of contracts are what is so valuable to a team like the Knicks who are in win now mode. Its much more than just that as well with team chemistry, elite defense, durability, age and what not. It is a situation where the value is hard to see but it is 100% there.

If the Knicks was healthy they would’ve beat the Celtics this past season. That’s without the Bridges trade. They was the better team after the OG trade but now adding Bridges makes them head and shoulders above the Celtics. But can they stay healthy that will be their only question Most teams was offering 4 picks plus young players for Bridges the Knicks gave them 5 with a pick that belonged to Milwaukee. So how was this an overpay? they didn’t give up and young players they wanted to keep! Even if they were healthy they would have gotten smoked by the Celtics this year. You do know the Celtics have Jrue and Derrick white to make Brunsons offense a living hell? Ask Luca and Kyrie. They are 100% this year a threat to beat the Celtics but it will always matter who is the healthier team.. If KP is healthy than the Knicks have no chance. without KP I think it will be a competitive series...You just can't game plan for a team like the Celtics who have no weaknesses on offense and can defend at every position.. Still as a Celtics fan I am happy to see the Knicks being relevant again! Great front office that makes smart moves that allows them to be in the mix every year.

Mad Dog is not seeing the trade value of Bridges. Mikal Bridges is like Dru Holiday except he shoots better. He was in the discussion for NBA defensive Player of the Year, he averages almost 20 points and 4.5 rebounds , 3 steals , the guy is like an octopus with a jump shot. He is a twin of OG Anunoby except he can create his own shot. Our two wings (OG and Randle) match up against Boston's wings. Our guards (Brunson and Bridges) can equal Tatum and Brown in offensive output and defensive intensity though Brown is a bit better driving to the basket. We are not as good as Boston at the 5 spot (Porzingis/Horford versus MitchRob and IHart).

None of the teams boston beat in their title run are even close to next year's knicks squad even if they lose big hart. All 4 teams boston beat had their best player either out or heavily compromised due to injury and the best regular season record of their playoff opponents was 50-32. Point is, it's an awful take to assume that boston would steam roll the knicks next year because of how easily they won it this year. Knicks are legitimate and they're built to match up with boston similarly to how the twolves were built to match up with denver

Knicks beat an injured Embiid 76ers (who still dominated them with 1 leg and worse roster)and lost in the 2nd round. Let's stop acting like what the Knicks did last year was some impressive feat. It wasn't.

The Celtics did that missing their starting center. The Celtics owned the Knicks last year. Until the Knicks start beating the Celtics on a regular basis all of this means nothing. The Knicks are always hurt.

@@Reaper13-hi3yoyou’re missing the fact that Knicks were without their second best player in Julius Randle. Oh let’s also not forget Embiid’s dirty filthy tactics injuring Robinson to win game 3. It took the Pacers 7 games to beat the Knicks bench squad because they were injured, so yes that’s pretty impressive. Lol.

If you're with mad dog you've probably never played professional sports in your life . Chemistry is just as important as having a star. Even better when you have a couple all stars 2 way guys with a team with insane chemistry... I should know I was the glue guy on my high school and college team did the dirty work with one "star caliber" player. We won 3 years in a row in high school and twice in college.
