I'm so lazy today, I'm not even going to describe this video. It's about knitting. And a smidge of crochet. If you're also feeling lazy, grab your knitting and a yummy beverage and hang out with me in the lounge - OR skip this vid and I'll see you next time. It's all good, my friend. :)

Ok. This was a fun episode. I had a mentally draining day so your wandering commentary fit the bill! Thank you! Also, reading your knitting is game changing! It allows you to figure out where you are and if you've made an error you can try to fix just the error and not feel like you need to frog and start again (which I did ALOT in the early days). Anywho, enjoy the rest of the week!

Most of my favorite podcasters here on the Tube are unedited, relaxed, and spontaneous. I don't mind it one bit. Also, I was so inspired by your shawl modification videos that I've cast one on to try making a wraparound/poncho. :)

Reading your knitting is truly an important skill. As knitting happens, the knitter occasionally checks their work to look for mistakes, loose stitches, all kinds of things. Literally like reading letters combined to make words used to make articles, books and so on, reading knitting is reading stitched combined to make a pattern from garter & stockinette, cables, lace and like which are used to create all manner of knitted items. Editing a written piece to make certain that it makes sense, is free of spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, and fits the audience is to reading knitting to make certain that the gauge remains constant, stitches aren't twisted, dropped, split; no (glaring) errors in the work, cables crossed incorrectly...A knitter reads their work to make certain that things are as they are supposed to be exactly like a writer would proof their work as the write. Like learning to read, it takes practice.

So much fun to ‘hang out’ with you! Agree on reading your knitting - I’m an intermediate knitter and it takes a while for me to get used to a pattern, SO MUCH easier once you learn to read your knitting. Can’t wait for your future videos.

Love this. Unplugged is completely fine with me. So much more like me. lol Reading your stitches is soooo important, it makes life so much easier. I hope you can convert the deco pattern to mosaic it would be much easier. I love the deco sweater so much though I would even do it in stranded knitting. I like the neck you showed last as well

I completely understand reading your knitting. I'm working on a fisherman's cable sweater for my husband, and there are 3 different cable patterns with 3 different numbers of row repeats, and it helps so much to be able to look at the row I knit before and know exactly what I need to do next with each cable.

Love your style… I listen to you and it sounds like the monologue in my head. Couldn’t I just do mosaic knitting instead of stranded knitting???? I’m wondering about colour dominance, I learned the hard way that it IS a thing 😂. Can’t wait to hear what you find out. Keep them coming. And BTW, it’s always aperitif time somewhere, well at least that’s what my dad used to say when he picked me up from school on Saturday mornings. I grew up in France and yes, we had school on Saturday mornings… I hope you had a great time at Fiber West. It was not in my cards this weekend. 🍸

Are you absolutely sure there was no gin in that glass? 😆 Anyway, regarding the sweater you're going to rip back and reshape, I'm wondering if you could just save most of the bottom of it on a cable, pick up the stitches just above you starting point for the mod, cut out the bad part, then graft it together to finish, instead of reknitting all of that? I'm not speaking for myself because I can't do a decent Kitchener stitch to save my life, but I've seen other people do it.

Hi, thanks for your video. I'd be interested in buying your version (infinity cowl) of the Purl Soho Stitch Block cowl you mention. I didn't find it in Ravelry. Could you help ?
@Knicoleknits
@Knicoleknits 13 күн бұрын
Thanks for being interested in my infinity version of that cowl! The pattern for the original Stitch Block is free on the Purl Soho website. The original is worked flat and grafted into a loop. I converted the stitch patterns so that they could be worked in the round instead of flat, then worked them in a tube and reduced the length of each section to make a smaller cowl. I just realized I haven't put this project up on Ravelry yet. I'll find my notes see if it makes sense to include the details of my modifications on the project page in Ravelry (or maybe on my website). Stay tuned! 😄
