Hello, in this video I show you how I made a knife from the movie The Hunted, the famous Tom Brown knife. It is a hunting and survival tracker knife. With saw on the back and handle in dyed wood. Just today I left a comment under the Russian-language video, where many criticized the Tracker version, despite the fact that it coped with most tasks! I wrote that if a skilled craftsman completes some inaccuracies in the design, then it will be an excellent working knife for heavy work in the forest! That one (two, actually, the one was rubber) knife in the movie wasn't Brown's tracker, but Dave Beck's version of it instead, and i presonaly prefer the one over original Brown's. Nice job, mate, you're one of two people i've seen who pulled the work as close to original as possible, all top-notch.

I made the roughest version of this knife.About 7 years ago. I didn't buff it or anything.I heated the steel, shaped it, sharpened it and that was it. I still have it. I've probably sharpened it 3 times and its still one of the best bushcraft knifes I've ever made.

Да, это один из самых сложных процессов в изготовлении ножей. Хотя отпуск пружинной балки почти никогда не бывает неправильным, это может произойти, в зависимости от того, в каком состоянии она была обработана ранее, поэтому всегда необходимо отжигать и нормализовать сталь, чтобы избежать будущих дефектов или ошибок. 👍👍👍

Well done indeed. I wonder what kind of steel that was, what you used to blacken it, and how well the saw edge worked. I bought mine but have been wanting to make one myself. The one i have is different on the saw part.

Thank you very much, my friend. The steel I used is spring steel, 5160. I used a solution of ferric perchloride acid to darken it. 👍👍👍

Thank you my friend. The first is an acid, called hydrochloric acid or ferric perchloride. And the second is water with baking soda to neutralize the acid. 👍👍👍

@@MakerHA посмотри фильм еще раз и особенно присмотрись к ножу. Рукоять другая, пилы тако йточно нет, она там не нужна, это не нож выдивальщика, это нож чтобы убивать. Надрезы делаются лезвием, пила будет только рвать кожу.

Hello,now go figure my friend has had a Tops Knives Tom Brown Jr. Tracker 1 that his father got him as a gift for military service as a Ranger.He's had it over 6 years now and had wanted a Dr. Dave Becks design and his loving fiance dug deep and surprised him with one of the sets from some place Arizona something and wouldn't you know it!?!,He liked the Tom Brown Jr. one better in the hand.Maybe because he's had it longer and has a number of years with it it's not feeling right with him the Beck design.He kept using it when he had State side down time for about 7 months but it didn't feel any better or more comfortable.He really wanted the Dave Becks version but he doesn't get why it is really a night vs. day difference in the way his hands,arm and overall body feels and reacts to using it hard.He just couldn't feel good while using it even though it's the superior design between the two.It left him really frustrated,it was expensive as all get out for his fiance.He told her and she said it was alright you just can't just force your body to accept that type of dynamic change.She was okay with him giving it to me as a gift since we served together for a while and are still like brothers to this day.His father calls me his other son and genuinely means it.There was no way I was going to let her go down the financial hole like that so I gave her what she paid for it and now I'm learning the ins and outs and all around of it.only had for almost two weeks but can say when it comes to the Tracker design only two matters,the Rob Russon's original and the Dr. Dave Becks.I'm going to take my time with this one,as an old saying goes this one's a matrimony in progress.The knife you made looks really good and you have real talent and skill.All the best to you.

All that effort and attention to detail………and your ‘loveless’ bolts give no real mechanical strength to holding the scales to the slab of steel (except for the epoxy that holds them in place). That’s a real shame.
