Man, this is one of my favorite games of all time. It's my childhood years, playing this in mame32 in 2000 or something. I love it so much, and too bad that they guys didn't know that you can block and the special move as well. Also too bad they didn't mention what a marvel of a soundtrack this game has!

19:50 I remember going to the local arcade here about 5 years ago, which is quite a small arcade, but there was a crowd of at least 40 people watching this one dude beat the simposons arcade game on 1 quarter which is pretty impressive and took quite a while.

Heard about your cat earlier James, and my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you. I can definitely relate to losing a beloved pet especially now as the oldest beagle dog out of three in my family passed on a few days ago at the ripe age of 18 years, my parents got her when i was nine years old and needless to say that she was very near and dear to us all for so long. Boo's occasional appearances and funny bits on AVGN especially the Atari Jaguar, Nintendo Accessories and Big Rigs videos remain some of my personal favorites from the many years i've been a viewer, and it'll be different and kind of hard not seeing the little guy popping up on the show anymore. Anyway, on a more upbeat note a great J&M Mondays playing and keep up the awesome content.

Loved it in the arcade, loved the home edition as well. Played through recently with my 9 year old son who likes “retro” gaming (this game feel like yesterday to me lol). He was a huge fan as well. Repetitive, sure, but so much fun.

Whenever i saw someone beat an arcade game back in the day, I'd watch it like a movie, astonished from the distance And if they left the machine during the ending, I'd stand in front of the screen and hold the buttons just to try and feel the glory I was the kinda player that died at level 2 of every game every time

I absolutely loved playing Knights of the Round in the arcade.

I loved playing the home port of Knights of the Round on the Super Nintendo growing up. That port and the arcade version were basically the same game except: -No Buster soldiers started appearing on horseback, though they can steal your horse in the snes version. - No extra animations in the background -No soldiers spawned during the second Phantom boss fight. -At the end, it was just Galibardi; no treasures, horses, lightning animations, or knights that dropped treasures for you. -You only have nine credits throughout the home port version, so I mostly get gameovers between the Balbars fight and the Muramasa fight. The snes version is still a worthwhile beat-em-up to play for those that have not tried it yet.

I remember many of these old arcades back from my childhood. I miss the old arcade places. They were so much fun. We have a place where I live called 1984 but I wish they had some of the newer arcades as well but it does help with the old nostalgic.

This game was awesome. Never even heard of it when I was a kid but my friend rented it. Ended up being an awesome port for the SNES. I had no idea it was released in the arcade.

I love this game so much. I used to finish it on arcade with one credit in 90s. level up makes you stronger in fact.

Holy crap! I just mentioned Knights of the Round in the comments section of last week's "James & Mike Mondays" video. I wasn't expecting you guys would do a video on it. Sweet! I owned this game for the Super Nintendo when I was a kid and it was (and still is) one of my favorite SNES games and it has one of my favorite soundtracks to an SNES game. Me and my dad would play this lot. He'd always pick Percival and I'd pick Arthur. We never did manage to beat the game, but we did get as far as the last stage before getting game over. When I was kid, I didn't know that this was originally an arcade game ported to the SNES, as I hadn't seen it in an arcade and didn't have a computer with internet access to find out that kind of stuff. It wasn't until years later when I found out about the arcade version through MAME emulation. After seeing and playing the arcade version, I must say that Capcom did a great job on the SNES version. The graphics and gameplay is pretty much identical to the arcade version. The only downside to the SNES version is that it only supports up to 2 players. As far as the sounds and music go, I have to say that I think that the instrument samples that were used for the SNES version sound WAY better the arcade version. I can't quite explain it, but the instruments just have more of a "punch" to it compared to the arcade version. Just listen to both and you'll hear what I mean.

I played this constantly on my snes. Loved it.

When you can fight Dragons and demons/aliens and whatnot, healing from eating apples isn't a stretch. Magic is magic.
