There are many Part Numbers listed below depending on what style you want. I have those options in my links below. In this video I compare them to the other options from Knipex I have that will also cut wire. Even though those options are much bigger... these cut through everything easier.
One of the tools I compare it with are my Knipex Forged Wire Strippers which you can see a review for here - • Knipex Forged Wire Str...

Thanks for making me aware of these. The fact that they don't smush the wires as much as the linemans seems like it would make stranded wire go into a wago easier. I also like how compact they are.

😂…. The cutters on their wire strippers are amazing. Most brands strip about the same, but those cutters set Knipex apart in my opinion.

The “ Pliers for Electrical installation “ are also quite good cable cutters ( tho not as effortless as the Stepcut ! I have them in both Comfort grip , and VDE grip .

Yeah the Forged Wire Strippers were the 2nd best of what I used today by far. Them and the Electrical Installation Pliers have very similar cutters.

@@MORGANSMaintenance which one is better? The forged wire strippers or electrical installation pliers and is it worth having both or is one good enough
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
@@drake3004 if I was only buying one, I would get the forged wire strippers.. a lot more versatile. If I only worked in 12 and 14 wire, I prefer the size (thickness) on the installation pliers. I use them more… but there are some things I do that they won’t (fire alarm, data, etc) The Forged Wire strippers will do it all. For the price, the Forged Wire Strippers are also normally cheaper which makes no sense, but unless you do a lot of electrical they are pretty pricey to own both.

I've had these since they first got to the stores. Have the older smooth blade version as well, have had those well before that so I know them both well. The older ones are great but these are even better. Use em all the time. They cut and strip for terminals like a champ. #2 #6 #12 #14 regularly. Couldn't ask for a better cutter.

I was doing maintenance for the last 5 years, a Cobra 180 was the next most usefull thing,after my hands. Their cutters like the one on this video and the Cobolt 200, are both some of my favorites. They just make my life so much easier, especially since I got tennis elbow on both hands/arms. It's not just the pain, you can't apply too much strength and you can't close your hands. These tools are more valuable to me, than tennis elbow bracer itself. If your profession is Maintenance, Electritian, Car Mechanics, and you don't already own at least a dozen Knipex tools, like most of us do, then you really need some Knipex tools in your life.

Couldn't Agree More!!! I left the Cobalt cutters at home when I did the cabinets I posted videos for... I had to cut every knob and pull screw to length. I tried the Cobalt cutters when I got home on a screw just to see..... I was very upset with myself 😂😂

pretty impressive! I like the size of them. However I dont see myself purchasing them just because the largest wire I cut is 10/3 and thats very rare. My Ideal reflex T strippers cut any wire I encounter, if I need to cut something stronger I break out my co bolts

We have solid and stranded wires. Most of the bigger gauge are made up of smaller solid wires stranded together… That I’ve seen in my line of work anyways. I don’t deal with real big wires.
