The Knipex have both standard high leverage side cutters and angled side cutters and so does channellocks. They also have an angled version. In Knipex’s code, (example: 74 22 200) the first number (74) stands for the tool (ie the high leverage side cutters). The last number (200)stands for the approximate length of the tool in millimeters (200= 200mm/8 inches). As for the middle number (22) it stands for a couple different things. The first number will tell you the variation of that specific tool itself, so for example, Standard/straight high leverage side cutters or ANGLED high leverage side cutters. If the blade is flush, semi flush, centered. Etc… It will tell you if it has a black oxide finish, polished finished, semi polished, chrome plated etc.. The second part of the second number will tell you what type of handle it has (ie: no handle at all/bare metal, rubber dipped, regular or grippy, the multi component grip/comfort grip, and the multi component VDE 1000v rated grips. They also have a rubber dipped handle that is rated for 1000V.) it will also tell you whether or not it has a regular handle or a spring opening handle. The first 2 in the 22 in this case means these are the angled side cutters as opposed to regular side cutters and the second 2 in the 22 refers to the comfort grip handle as opposed to the standard dipped handles (1). So a standard straight side cutter with a dipped handle would have 01 as the second number instead of the 22 you pliers have.

I always went with the offset diagonal cutters back when I was wiring residential...my first set of Ideal cutters were the best...can't remember if they were Japanese or USA made, but certainly better than the Kleins that followed. Misplaced my old Kleins recently...I think it's time to try the Knipex.

I like their cutters , very good build quality, great ergonomics ! Pliers is basically all they do ! I like their 125 ,140, and 160mm’s . I often find myself in tight spots . I totally hate pliers that take forever to wear in !

Great video. It’s one of those features causal users never think about. I know you are probably not supposed to use them this way, but I like using the bent ones (I have Klein’s) to lever up staples and nails. I don’t think I have ever really truly needed the feature to cut something (although it is nice for that), but levering with them is great and something you can’t do with regular ones. I have my eye on the bent head Knipex bolt cutters now.

Sir, Knipex also has a side cutter called heavy duty. What is the difference between this side cutter and the normal one? Doesn't it have the same mission as the regular pickpocket, which is heavy duty?

Klein performs best for me

I have those,but the klein cut way better,I don't know why.
