My experiences and demo of the knipex linemans pliers

The Knipex are my favorite linemans pliers. Just like my favorite water pipe pliers, both made by Knipex. Used to use Klein and Channel locks until I held a frozen bolt with my channel locks while I torqued against it with my Knipex Cobras and literally destroyed my Channel locks... ever since then I've gone Knipex only. The channel locks that broke literally had teeth sheer off and the Knipex, aside from a tad bit of surface tarnishing on the stamped face, are still in perfect condition. To those that think I got a bad pair of channel locks... I thought so too... I repurchased the same style of channel locks, did the same thing, and they broke the same way. Never buying channel locks again. Period.

Yeah sorry guys I was just being lazy and thought it would crimp on regardless. I promise I am aware that your supposed to strip them first. See my Klein crumpets video as proof lol

The picture came out right today I meant to say something about the last review but you do great reviews Man keep up the great work I like how your doing single tool reviews and there still long and good content. Like the new stand lol. The reason everyone loves there 11 in 1 is cause in the US there’s allot of 1/4,5/16,and 3/8 nuts on allot of electric stuff and for us to not have to pull 3 drivers out to open one electric panel just looks crazy in front of your boss or your peers.
@davereed66122 жыл бұрын
Channel lock stuff is all good for about the first week. Then the cutting blades get dull fast. The only thing I use from channel lock these days is their 16” water pump pliers and maybe the large filter wrench..,but even that get full teeth and slips on filter. The Klein stuff is good. Klein makes THE best automotive wire strippers, ratcheting crimpers and they have some great flashlights, tool bags, meters, levels and multibit screwdrivers/drivers etc. I’m not big on their pliers. I use knipex…I’m reeling this to ensure you you’re not missing much from Klein other than said tools above.

In order to crimp connectors , you need to strip the wire . The crimping die requires great skill to use , as it isn’t controlled cycle , and a gas tight connection can’t be assured . Not trying to be a smart arse .

Klein and Knipex are very similarity priced if you take out the import price up they're nearly exactly the same for example your pair and the Klein journeyman series with fish tape and crimper are the same price and have all of the same features . However it cost 79 dollars on the kleins are 58 dollars. Klein ranges from 38-98 (for kleins I mean Linesman's) and the knpiex range from 40 -112

@@danstoolroom7700 very soon ill be replacing my Kleins after 3 years of daily service and 8 years of existence if you'd like to get a. Hold of them, I'll leg you know when I replace them.

Dan, I could only wish for one of those. I use a Craftsman lineman pliers, it is 3 times cheaper with lifetime warranty. I use it as a screw cutter and hammer than the actual use of the tool. Thanks for your video.
@ricker76er Жыл бұрын
Good luck with that warranty. I hear that’s practically a thing of the past. Even if they still advertise it. Lowes is notorious for not honoring it.

5 reasons Linesman's pliers are better then combination pliers, Lineman's are better hammers , they're normally larger. I've never seen combination pliers with cross hatched jaws. Ummm I can't think of 5

@@danstoolroom7700 I don't know really, I don't buy combination pliers because I like 9 inch or bigger , and the only combinations I've held in my hands or seen at a store are 8 inch knipes

@sparkydstoolboxtalk10243 жыл бұрын
The Klein and Knipex linemans are comprable, the Channellock pair have weaker cutters, in fact they are the only cutters that I have chipped while cutting screws, still can't beat them at their price point.
@wax-ecstatic2 жыл бұрын
I have these and I love them, but when I first got them I needed to cut a screw shorter and it ended it marring the cutting edges. It was no more hardier than the chain you cut in this. Wonder if I got a dud.
@ricardodelabrego89292 жыл бұрын
The same thing happened to me with Knipex 02 02 200, but it was my fault... I tried to cut a screw with a diameter greater than 2.2 mm. They are very good tools with precise instructions for use. The maximum cutting capacity of the Knipex 09 12 240 is 3 mm or 1/8" in diameter. Regards.
@MrRubenrivera9649 Жыл бұрын
As much as I like those pliers I can't afford them so I have klein and Channellocks and they work equally as well (to me )
@HiltonRalphs3 жыл бұрын
Yep you're using the incorrect ferrules. The ones this is designed for are the more solid ones that you'd typically use to crimp two earths together with (called lugs in some parts). However there's a small 'm' to the left of the crimper section you used and this would be the part to use on those connectors you tried.
