Gauge: 7.5 STS + 11 Rows = 4 in/10 cm in stockinette stitch in 12mm (US 17) needles

Instructions
Using the US 17 (12mm) needles, CO 75 STS using the long tail CO method. Knit stockinette stitch until piece measures 36in from CO edge and BO.
Fold work in half horizontally and seam up the sides, leaving about 6in for armholes. Pick up and knit 32 STS for the sleeves. Join work in the round and work 1x1 rib (K1, P1) for 9in and BO in pattern.
For the body ribbing, use the US15 (10mm) 40in needles to pick up and knit a ST in every ST along the bottom of the work. Join work in the round and work 1x1 rib (K1, P1) for 3in and BO in pattern. Weave in ends and seam up any armhole gaps.

Yeah another trendy knitted garment I can make of yours. It’s great. I’m still making the last arm on the v neck cardigan, I’m a bit slow as I don’t have much free time to knit, but as soon as I get finished I will start this. 🙂🧶

Would this work if I knit the rectangle using a corner to corner pattern, (where you start with 5 stitches then work up to 75 using the yarn over method) or would it look awkward?

Hmmm, I’m not quite sure! You could try it… it’s more of a rectangle, however, so not sure if increasing that way would make a square or rectangle. If you can make it so that you get the same dimensions (40in x 36in) then it’ll work!

I'm doing a corner to corner dish towel right now,teaching my grand daughter. Corner to corner is usually square,dish towels are a rectangle,,but you can stop increasing once you get the width you want ,then keep knitting til you get the length you want,then start the decreases. Keep in mind tho,in order to stay in pattern you have to still do the yarn overs. Which means that while your just adding the length(and doing those yarn overs)you have to DECREASE a stitch in the same row to compensate for the increase! I've seen a tutorial on yt for it somewhere,lol,gotta find it before me and my grand daughter get past those initial increases!😄

You'll just need to convert the gauge of the pattern so that it turns out to be the same size!

@@nicolettewilliams6726 I doubt it,,if you mean just straight needles with no cord they simply won't be long enough,youll have too many stitches to fit on the straight needles~!!
