This crochet shoulder bag tutorial is beginner friendly and works up quickly. Of all of my beginner crochet bags patterns, this is my new favorite.
I've never made a macrame crochet bag before, but I'm absolutely in love with this Macaroni Macrame rope. Highly recommend.

Notes:
-This basket is worked in the round from the bottom up.
-We’re going to work in spiral so make sure to place the stitch marker into the first stitch in every round.

Hi, I bought the 2mm Macaroni Macrame Rope (2 skeins) as suggested and started the bag using a 6mm hook. I am coming to the end of skein 2 and am only at row 31! My rope definitely looks thicker than yours. How is this possible?

I've made this today with 2mm cotton rope, but my thread is quite thinner so I've used 2 strands together and as a result the bag is a little bit heavy. But I totally like your tutorial and its very easy to make. I also add 4 more rows in the repeat rounds. The height of my bag is 10.5 inches. Thank you 🥰

Thank you for your clear, easy instructions. I have crocheted many in round patterns both distinct seperate rounds and spiral rounds. Was not happy with either version until you taught in this video. I don't get turned around listening, or watching you. And your clever way of finishing the final row.....I tried many times to do what you did to make it look like another stitch with no one to teach me. You're the first to show what I've been trying to do!!!! I can't wait to try and make this bag!!!! Keep up the amazing work teacher ☺️! The only thing I may do different is a Romanian cord for the straps.

Thank you for sharing this design. I have made several of these bags to date to give away. And to use for work. I love putting little pins or brooches on the front where you have your label. Some I put in a magnetic closer and other's a large button that works as the closure. I am able to complete the bag in a matter of hours. Currently, I've only used Macrame Cotton. But I've order some Polyester Cord for my next version of the bag. I appreciate you teaching style. And the level of detail that you have in your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Thank you so much for this free pattern and tutorial. It was SUPER EASY to follow! I just finished it, and I'll be gifting it to my younger sister for Christmas! Her favorite color is orange, so I used two complimentary shades of orange (Burnt Pumpkin & Desert Glaze, from I Love This Yarn) for this bag and it turned out really nice! I love this bag so much, that I decided to use your tutorial to learn. I have never crocheted before. I am left handed, but decided to teach myself to do it right handed. I am so proud of the bag I made!!!! Your tutorial was amazing to follow. At the end of 32 rows I ended up with 52 stitches, but I couldn’t see where I had added them. It looks amazing. GREAT BAG! Your instruction is excellent! I only changed mine, cuz I’m an old ass hippie!, 😜, by adding fringe to the bottom, & cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside, on the bottom, for some stability. Thanks again!…✌🏼🇨🇦

Susan can you pls help me out with few doubts.i too started with the bag. I am in the round 10 my base looks small as my thread is lil thin i felt .what do i do in this case? Do i make five more rounds the same and then start the spice stitch and i have 53 stitches in total at my 10th round

Love this lil bag! And your tutorial was so clear and easy to follow!! But my bag seems much smaller and doesn't have that slight bell shape like yours in the pic 🤔 I used 2mm macrame cord but I think I should have used 3mm. Still loved it!

I got 2mm macrame cord as well but it seems to be much thinner than the one used in the tutorial. I had to switch to a 5mm hook.
