Despite being an avid crochetter and knitter for years, I've never owned a high quality thoughtfully constructed project bag. My current project bags are those cloth drawstring bags that new bed sheets come in. It seemed like a waste to throw them out, so they became my project bags.

Even when you aren't traveling, project bags are a must for corraling your knitting! I don't have a lot of project bags. Most of the ones I have I made myself, because honestly I'm cheap and have a glut of fabrics. But I have several of the 'Pretty Cheap Bags' that I use all the time. Made of flour sack and screen printed in various colors, these basics hold enough for a medium project. Another maker I love Wuthering Sheep. They have a 'Roly Poly' collection of embroidered animals. These bags are wonderfully designed with interior pockets. I have one I got from YarnByrds.

My favorite knitting bag is the one I made by following a crochet tutorial on how to make one. It has the handle loop that lets you knit while standing. The funny thing is that it was a mystery CAL and for a while nobody new what we were crocheting. 🤣The second one I use is the sturdy square grocery box with the cloth material and flip bottom. While being a passenger in road trips, I work on my wip and the foldable box is on the car floor. The kit you are giving away seems sweet to have😍especially for air travel❣️

Love the chance to win a bag..🤓⚜️ The only bag I have ever used belonged to my Great Aunt, it's from 1904, she carried her knitting and Crocheting in it.. it's not huge I'd say just right size. I keep whatever I'm working on in it, though now it never leaves the house.. I'm 70 so that gives age on my bag..🤷✨ and why it stays home..🤓🧶🧶👜🧦👛🧶🧶✨✨⚜️⚜️

I like to easily see the projects in the bag, so I typically just use/reuse a gallon size zip top bag to hold my pattern, row counter, and a ball or two of yarn. Once a project gets too big for the bag, I just leave it outside the bag or use a tote. The only “project” bag I purchased is from dellaQ, and it’s a simple small drawstring bag for a hat or sock. Thank you for sharing your favorites! ❤️🧶

My favorite project bags are the ones I make for myself. A basic lined, drawstring bag with a square or rectangular bottom depending on the bag size. I love your bags! They're so cool and roomy! I love all those pockets! Honestly, all of my favorite project bags are ones I've made or plan to make; I use colorful cotton fabrics. I used to knit lace shawls, exclusively, to give to my lovely sister-friends, then I added socks for me and my mom. Each shawl I knit for one of them came with a hand-stitched (by me) small project/storage/gift bag. I'd stitch the bag while the shawl was drying/blocking (I wet block). I kept the first bag I made for myself, and I still use it. I started knitting as a student and couldn't afford project bags AND yarn. So, I used ziplock bags until I made one of my own. By the way, I still stash my wool projects in ziplocks, then stuff the plastic bag into one of my Ayesha-made project bags, or some random tote. (I like to make sure they're protected from spills and wool-eating insects.)

I never even knew there were specifically made knitting project bags! My favorite go to is a canvas tote from the knitting society at my uni - easy to carry, fits a lot, and clear on the purpose :)

I tend to use Vera Bradley totes more than anything. They are large and can hold everything for a project.

I have been opened to the world of project bags through you and other knitting Podcasters! I currently use a myriad of repuporsed bags. Most are from Thirty-One bags who have a great tote with side pockets, all open on top so my cat fits on too of the yarn (where it apparently belongs). I would love to brush off and oil up my sewing machine to make a tote that closes!!!

I love bags from The Scrappy Thread on Etsy! They’re all different and so well made and she offers different sizes. Her flat sack notions bags are fantastic, too!
