Josey demonstrates how to increase a stitch in knitting. This increase is called kf&b, or knit into the front and the back of a stitch. It increases your row by one stitch.

Exactly what I was looking for, making a sweater for my chihuahua and was looking for the increase in the beginning and the end to look symmetrical, thank you so much!!! 😁

Thank you so so SO much. I am making a sweater for my dog and the pattern was free, she doesn't go in depth at all. She says to increase but didn't say how. I've only learned about YO to add stitches and I didn't want a gaping hole in my sweater. I was trying to KFB on the last stitch on BOTH ends and couldn't figure out why I was getting a weird little bump on one side, thank you so much! Best tutorial ever. Will be subscribing.

Thank you for simplifying process by only adding a few stitches in-between stitch increase. Thank you also for showing both the front and the BACK stitch increase. Very helpful for beginners!

I am a beginner knitter. I'm making a garter stitch shawl/scarf. I am increasing once in the first stitch and once in the last stitch. I though my ends were getting too long and felt like perhaps I was doing it wrong. Thanks for confirming that I am not 🤗

My pattern says : 1st & 2nd rows: Kfb. knit to end of row. So do I do it like you did at the end of row or just the beginning and knit across to end of row then turn and do the kfb only at the beginning.

Am working on a piece that uses the KFB stitch, I am working on a scarf that uses the KFB at the left side of the scarf, at one point the pattern states do not increase. DO I just move the stitch over the two stitches that I have made with the KFB. Scarf that I am trying to do is called Neato, purchases from Ravelry. your help would be appreciated.
