The Crescent knives are a budget gem! The ergonomics, detent, on bearings, deep carry no hot spot clip.

I actually picked up the Orange handle Cresent with the harpoon blade and the black handled drop point both are bearing assisted and the steel is 5cr 15mov which I looked up and it is the same steel used in most kitchen carving /cutting knives. The bearings work well in both knives and the steel is easy to sharpen. I like them both for edc.

Those crescent knives aren’t half bad for the price and the ones I have had good action out of the box. I needed a knife one day and for got mine at home and got one and wasn’t mad about it.

They have a aluminum handled D2 version for 15 bucks. Best budget knife out IMO.

I'd definitely go for the CRKT M16. It could join the other 3. I got away from Spyderco in the late 90's and carried an M16 as my usual EDC at work for about 20 years.

The blue kobalt duo pack with the utility blade and the knife in one package for around $15 is the one the landscape guys keep raving about . It’s ok but they love it and that’s what matters I guess

The Crescent CPK-350A is actually nice but heavy. It's a 3.5 blackwash harpoon blade, D2 tool steal, ball bearings, anodized aluminum handle, flipper tab and a good action👍. Crescent has been heat treating tool steel since 1907, hopefully they have figured out by now😁. The version with G-10 is like 5Cr15MoV. Also the CRKT Minimalist bowie is also 5Cr15MoV like that 2 pack of Crescent knives you had in your hand. Some of CRKT minimalist with graphics printed on the blade, are 7cr17mov. Also there's the new D2 version with a thicker blade stock too.👍. ✌

The Leatherman Free T2 is a great EDC. The T4 is better, with more tools, but it's their magnetic holding system that's the star.

I got one of the Crescent flippers in D2 for $10 on clearance after X-mas. It's kinda weird. The blade is nice but the handle is a little bulky and the flipper action is pretty sub-par. Wish it was just a thumb stud. It's basically a beater that I'll use for some horrible job that I wouldn't use a good knife on.

Lost half my index finger, same hand. Lawnmower when I was 5. I was pretty lucky it happened before I knew how to write so I'm fully right handed. Good on ya Bird!!

Just saw a Knifecenter new knives video with the Vision R. DCA said it was made for food prep, and that’s why the lock bar on the spine comes out so you can wash it off.

The Crescent was the only decent knife in the bunch. I bought 2 of them at 15 a piece. Nice slab of D2, good lock up, good detent. A little slippery in silver aluminum though.

Yea y'alls have more of a edc style selection than we do and the hangers you just turn that lil know on there it just takes a min to wind it to you and that outdoor edge knife is amazeballz it's insanely sharp like a scalpel skin 🦌 real 👍🏼

We looks sick was eyeballing it last night. Minimalist Bowie is amazing neck knife. For replacing blades- I would go with the Cold Steel Click and Cut. I don't miss construction either. :)

I wish they would make the Peit in 14c or AEB-L, that would take it to a next step up choice. Besides the leathermans, the best thing in that section is the Kobalt button lock utility folder. It's kind of a sleeper. One of those with a serrated utility blade make for a great cardboard processor and rope cutter. I do with it wasn't tip down though.

I will definitely have to checkout Lowe's Home improvement store where I live at in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. I have never looked at Lowe's for knives. I have always bought all of my knives from Bass Pro Shops in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. and Tractor supply store. And Walmart. In Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Where I live at.

I'm always curious about the tool brand fixed blades. Lenox and Milwaukee are usually in stock. I think some of the Milwaukee ones are Aus-8 steel. Never tried one out but who knows? Maybe they're hidden gems.

The replaceable blades are pretty popular with hunters to be keep weight down. Here in b the Midwest not really an issue since you can process a deer with one blade. But when hunting elk it helps to have a knife you can replace the blades when you processing and quartering. Extra blades are lighter than a sharpener.

The Quadrant is simple and styled nicely, but its not a fidgeter. I picked up one when it first came out from BladeHQ. For a straight grind, they did a number on the one I got. Hopefully they've improved the fit & finish.

I agree with all of the above. I love the way the Quadrant looks, but the action is just not there. It has a flipper tab but doesn't flip. Lol. And yeah, fit & finish needs to be polished up. Still like the look of it, so it's kind of a shame.

I’ve been in the construction trades for 35+ years. There are definitely easier ways to make a living. I’ve got bits of fingers and thumbs missing from table saws, razor knives, skill saws and such. Mostly scars left where there once was more of me. LOL!! I usually carry a supply of super glue, paper towels and duct tape in the first aid box. You never know when you’re going to need a man-daid.

Snecx designed the lock before Demko. He’s openly said he didn’t patent it on purpose, but a well known maker took the idea without being honest about where they got it.

I know someone who was using a circular saw a got two of his fingers while cutting up pallets 🤷‍♂️ They were able to reattach them but not with full usage. Shit happens

I work at Lowe’s and the selection of knives is underwhelming to say the least. I carry the Wave+ in my edc bag but as far as folders I wouldn’t buy anything here as my main edc. The Pilar looks cool but it has Teflon washers and cheap steel.
