Agreed, he was just absolutely the wrong choice for Star Wars, and that's as much if not mostly the fault of Disney and Kathleen Kennedy for not knowing what the hell they wanted to do.

Knives Out. Knives are sharp. The opposite of sharp is blunt. A blunt is also a joint. Joints in the body is usually only bend in one direction. Regan's joints bend the wrong way in the spider walk scene which was added back into the extended version of The Exorcist.

I loved this so much as well. At first it's a mystery, then a drama, comedy and a brilliant character story, and then finally a satisfying mystery again. As well as being fantastically written and even politically incisive. Ana de Armas' acting is also a complete highlight.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film at the BFI London Film Festival - delightfully theatrical, very modern muder-mystery caper interwoven with all the classic genre tropes - Daniel Craig is a tour-de-force & Ana De Armas is captivating in a film that is equally as compelling as it is complex.

I have not wanted to watch a movie again after just finishing it at the movies. All the details! So rich and clever! All the dialogue makes sense at the end! Rian Johnson nailed the script so well. I love all the cast members. I cannot say I guessed the villain. The villain was so great and unbelievably devilish. Oh my goodness. I cannot spoil the movie but oh boy the villain was so despicable yet I was rooting for this person at the beginning!

Took my Mum to see this yesterday and we both loved it. I love supporting movies like this, where you feel as though you are rewarding the film's creators by going to see it, given that they have clearly put a lot of effort into making something both brilliant and new/original. Rather than going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and you leave feeling like at this point the creators are just mugging you right off

I also thought the original score was absolutely amazing. Opening the film with a dramatic string quartet (that is by all intents and purposes a beautiful piece on its own) really set the mood for an intense and thrilling whodunnit cinematic experience. Not to mention when this theme returned in the scene where they read the will. Really felt like something similar to the sound of Brahms’ quartets, a dramatic and beautifully dark piece of music. Truly made the will scene my favourite scene in the whole movie.

The curious thing here is throughout the film I thought I *did* know whodunnit - and all the clues I'd picked up on were indeed the clues to the ending, but not the ending I expected. And I left the film wondering if that was an intentional contrivance.

I thought it was a fairly good film. Not a great one. I think the primary reason it succeeds is because the role of the female protagonist in the film is such a well written character, and she is portrayed beautifully by Ana De Armas, who breathes such intense, shining humanity into her character that the audience can’t help but to root for her. Daniel Craig and the supporting cast are all very fine. I wasn’t at all familiar with Amas as an actress but came away very impressed by both the depth of her character and her nuanced performance. IMHO, it elevated the movie to a whole new level. I also really liked the somewhat open ending.

The best part about this movie is its so incredibly smart, but it doesn't even hit you as a viewer how smart it is until maybe the last 20 minutes. Even with the big plot pushing moment in the middle, it takes a while for you to grasp all the references and hints. Like usually you can tell when a hint is a hint, but not in this movie. Huge reason the writing is so good.

Two simple words- liked it. It is great to watch a director take a very known style of an old school whodunit and then combine it with the modern lush and glory of technical achievement aquired via extraordinary camera work. Ana de Armas and Chris Evans was great and Daniel Craig was too Good. Incredible set design , as we expect from an Agatha Christie type classic . There was a genuine feeling of thrill and awe. The soundtrack of the film is fucking underrated. Well , the 2nd act of the film and the beginning of the third act was a bit gloomy in introducing New plot developments and inserting some action scenes (though few) . But in the end this is probably one of the very best of 2019. I donot know why but this film deserved more recognition.

It’s funny, people are raving about this film. I really enjoyed it myself, but I don’t think it was a great film due to a number of choices that made it less of a whodunnit murder mystery where some of the characters seemed to be more ‘fluff’ for the narrative I never quite took seriously. I was trying in my earnest though to piece together the parts to try and solve it myself as the story went along, so maybe that is the responsible factor. As of now after only seeing it once, I am unsure as to if that mars my opinion of the film or improves it. Don’t get me wrong though, I still greatly enjoyed ‘Knives Out’ and I believe I would not have enjoyed it in the same way, were the flaws that I see in it not be there. Plot and narrative aside, the directing itself was outstanding and I was very much gripped by the events that did unfold. As a side note, I do feel like Rian Johnson is the reembodiment of the M Night Shyamalan ‘What a twist!’ meme.
