one of your push rods sound like the clip fell off, and one of the other ones are hitting against the other one.

pssssst, it doesn't have push rods. It's not an OHV engine, it's a cammer engine, where the cam's are in the heads. Maybe the mechanic should check in the trunk to see if there's a guy in there banging a couple of push rods together ? ;-)

its rod knocking the rod is broke dont attenpt to fix it

It sounds consistant with a bearing... my GF's 2000 Blazer sounded the same way

yeah cause that is a mercury. Same thing as a Ford Taurus.
