They’re mountain ash(e regnans)It grows big.You leave a nice clean stump with good hinge wood by the way.The wood is very clean.Arent there any termites in New Zealand?

Dude that is very good felling but I must say that you need to invest in about 10 of those felling wedges and use a good 8 pound maul or sledge especially on heavy trees such as euc.

Nice job mate! Can tell you’ve been running a saw for a while! Lol The stock 880 sounds gutless compared to all the hot rod saws I’ve been listening to lately on the north American fallers channels but nonetheless you got her done! They were nice trees! No way in hell I’d be climbing up there that high lol

i almost always use a traditional notch.... but slopes are perfect for the humboldt wedge, less stump, more log yeild

Nice clean cuts. I know it's to let in more light to the field but I wonder if losing those trees will compromise that hillside? maybe not
@jamesspires8096
@jamesspires8096 6 жыл бұрын
In the time it takes those stumps to rot and the hillside to be compromised there should be enough undergrowth and more trees to stabilize the hillside.

Nice! What's the deal with falling in NZ? Do you need to get certified and licensed to fall trees? Like yea do out here in British Columbia or is it still the wild west like God I tended logging to be.

@NZarboristBryce 7 жыл бұрын
climbernz .coleman Thanks bro, not up to your skill level though lol. I have my first crane work coming up next month, can't wait. The bottem paddock of land is to be planted in kiwifruit and these would have blocked a lot of the sunlight.
@samfirth7218
@samfirth7218 3 жыл бұрын
Ridiculous, kiwi fruit don’t need full sun and they get very tall any way you have just compromised the hill for 0.1 extra hours of sun per day and reduced the amount of pollinating insects in the area

Nz will have them 20ft tall again in 2 years while kiwis are grown in the paddock. Context is king. Real workers don't give two shits about the opinion of over entitled twerps on the internet either

To all those people who are criticising, were the trees felled, yes, was anybody hurt, so there is no issue. And you would think that people could at least make an effort with their grammar.

Back cut is way too low and there's no holding wood. Just stupid and shouldn't be put on public domain. He's lucky the tree hasn't slipped back or fallen the wrong way.
@NZarboristBryce

Back cut was always about 4 inches above the scarf and plenty of holding wood. Shoosh
@nate87465

Who taught u too dell a tree? U surely don’t have a level 3 or 4 u would fail the second u cut the base of ur scarfe before the 45. How u even know where to stop? And don’t say experience coz that only means u been doin it wrong for way too long. In a straight grain wood like gum ur lucky u don’t lose a bar... or worse. Don’t don’t put this on the internet it’s bad and illegal
