My husband listens to crackling wood fires and rainy days as white noise to go to sleep at night. I love the English countryside. Thankyou for sharing.

Ah I'm so glad you were charmed by our English countryside. I live in a quaint little village called Shillingstone in North Dorset and am loving living here and raising our children here. We are so lucky ❤

You must have seen the last rain we’ve had in ages! It’s a heatwave here now. I would recommend visiting the Lake District. I’ve just got back from a week there and it’s absolutely stunning.

Looking at the buildings I kept thinking how they withstood plagues, fire, wwII bombings, protests, and everything in between. Truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your trip with us, Andrew!

The dancers at the end of your Vlog are Morris Dancers.. many villages have them, where I grew up in Grenoside, they also had a band of these merry men… used to come around spring time…the tradition started in the year 1448 !!!!

I regularly meet my Aunt in Painswick, as I live in Bath and she in Stratford upon Avon. Painswick is about halfway between us. So pleased you enjoyed Painswick as it is beautiful town. The weather in the UK is superb at the moment, I can't remember when we had any rain!

I think it is so cool when you connect with people and share in something as simple as Les the Log . To think how many people walked those beautiful paths. There is something about that countryside you won’t experience even in the oldest place in the US - so much history is preserved there. This was really something else!

What a magical time you had! My family emigrated from England to Canada when I was 14, and I still miss it! Oh and the dancers were doing Morris dancing and goes back centuries! edit: I went to hh travel,I`ve subscribed to their website, which is beautifully done! Can`t afford to travel but will be spreading the word!

I've lived in the UK my whole life and it's so, so wonderful. Beautiful villages, thriving cities, castles, stately homes, mediaeval churches, old walls etc everywhere. And it's so green. Seeing others appreciate it and visit places I've never seen, makes me feel a bit teary!

I actually think Andrew is British! He looks truly at home and you are clearly all loving things that I take for granted every day living here in GB. I remember the video where Megan and Andrew went to York for his birthday way back when and I thought then how 'at home' he seemed. Enjoy xx

We were just in Italy. Day one Rome, the airline lost my luggage which had my raincoat. It poured. You can’t let bad weather stop you from exploring. You just keep going and dry off eventually! Love the vacation vlogs. Feel free to post more frequently to get us caught up to real-time. So we can also see the house updates. Loved seeing the chandelier was up!

The dance is called Morris. No one really knows how old it is, but certainly several hundred years. There are different versions that come from different parts of the country. The version you saw is called Cotswold, and tends to be gentle. If you head north west you get Border Morris, which is faster, the dancers wear tatters rather than smart clothes, and they tend to be much more violent with the sticks. I have seen them shatter pick-axe handles!

The Cotswolds, The Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales are UK gems. Take a moment to reflect on how so much more enjoyable it is to have access to our network of public footpaths. There is no such thing as bad weather in the UK. It is just that you have the wrong clothing.

I loved this video. It was definitely like stepping back in time. I know now why the English homes for the most part have beautiful gardens. It is because it rains so much. Andrew was right. One could image knights riding through those towns. The music you chose for the videos was perfect for the scenery. The Church was gorgeous. The stained glass was breathtaking.

Ahh loving watching your videos of England. Living here it’s so easy to forget how beautiful it is. Love that you’ve had the true British experience of torrential rain and then blue skies all in one day. And that you’ve been experiencing British pubs! Can’t beat proper pub grub (food). flatjack is 500g rolled porridge oats295g unsalted butter 250g lyle's golden syrup pinch of salt mix it all together put it in square baking tin greese tin with butter then put your baking paper then flatjack in oven until its golden brown on top not burnt

It seems strange, now. 30 years ago I was constantly driving through the Cotswolds ( 3 or 4 times a year / sometimes twice a week ) ) on my way between Lincolnshire / Yorkshire and South Wales - and never took much notice of the place. Seeing this I want to go back, stop and have a look.

The Rain cometh and the flower's grow. The Rain usually comes from the atlantic in the West, Eastern county's are dryer.

Flap jacks melt butter and golden syrup together then mix in porridge oats, place in oven dish and cook in oven for about 20 mins leave to cool

I'm in the North West too. You anywhere near the Ribble? Or are you more Manchester or Liverpool way? Then again could even be Carlisle. I'm just outside the city of Preston and even here we have a ton of thatched cottages and all the things ppl imagine only exist in the cotswolds.

I used to drive through Painswick every day for three months once on my way from Gloucester to Minchinhampton. I just love this part of the UK and watching this video brought back so many memories and it felt like I was back in the UK and home 😍
