This is nice but could you provide a math formula, Based on size of ball, for determining the lengths of the cords and the distance between the knots? I can probably derive this but it would be helpful to see it. Thanks.

OK, I see that you used 1/2 the diameter for the distance between knots. This is probably the most important dimension. The long cord needs to be long enough to hang where you want. Your short cords are about 13 times the diameter. I think this will work.
