I agree with your comments. There were initial plans by the series writers of the new DALLAS reboot on TNT to later RETCON the origin story of Christopher played by Jesse Metcalf wherein his uncle J. R. turns out to be his biological father after all. While Bobby and Pamela were investigating the birth of their adopted son and found proof that he was allegedly the offspring of Kristen Shepherd and Jeff Faraday, it will be shockingly revealed that J. R. had secretly and successfully falsified and fabricated all the documentary, medical and other evidence that his brother and sister in law came across in their previous investigation. Kristen never suffered a miscarriage and Jeff was paid to marry her and later broker the adoption deal with Bobby. Since Kristen died early from a drug overdose and Jeff was murdered immediately thereafter, neither of them could expose to Bobby and Pamela the real truth surrounding their adopted son's birth. J. R. IS THE FATHER OF CHRISTOPHER AFTER ALL.

Your right. KL has way too many iconic/memorable scenes based around acting, music and or lighting. This scene was executed perfectly.

Right. Wouldve paid to see Miss Ellie be there for a change. Also have JR meet Sumner, curious to see how that would go. The only character that shouldve made repeated visits to KL is Lucy..maybe live over there.

@@westwardstar1686 I agree. I also know that after Charlene Tilton left Dallas she asked the producers if she could join the cast of Knots Landing but they were against the idea for some reason. It would've been nice though to see Lucy back with her parents.

@@josebro352 Its possible they thought Lucy being in KL wouldve hindered Abbys plans. If thats the case, bring her in after the season 3 finale. Lucy facing up to the fact that she had a stepmom in Abby wouldve set up some great storylines.

@@josebro352 The main reason Lucy was mostly kept away from Knots, according to what I’ve read, was because the producers feared that having Valene and Gary’s grown daughter in the mix would age the characters too much, in the eyes of the audience. I agree that it resulted in some missed opportunities for interesting character dynamics and storylines. I can imagine Charlene Tilton having good on-screen chemistry with, for instance, Julie Harris as grandma Lillimae, and even Donna Mills in whatever form that could have taken.

I liked it. It was slightly odd, meaning Gary/Val and Kristin were characters that had no interaction before on Dallas I think. It was cool to have some extra backstory with Kristin before she gets thrown into the SF pool.
