At Knott's Berry Farm, the Ghost Town Grill is our favorite place to eat. This is the only sit-down, table-service restaurant in the park!
This table-service western experience provides both indoor and outdoor patio dining with a view. This Ghost Town setting offers you a view of the blacksmith at work, and you might even catch a glimpse of a Ghost Town cowboy showdown. The action of Main Street will complement your meal as you savor hearty home-cooked favorites and seasonal dishes.
Enjoy soup and chili served in a bread bowl, hearty sandwiches, fresh salads, and daily chef specials, as well as beer and wine. There’s something for everyone, including a special kid’s meal menu. And don’t forget about the dessert - boysenberry pie, cake, and ice cream are just some of the sweet treats waiting for you. The Sarsaparilla float alone is something you won’t find anywhere else in the park!
Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available upon request. Check back often for unique seasonal offerings. Ghost Town Grill is open select days. Hours of operation vary and are subject to change without notice.
The building that houses the Ghost Town Grill debuted on Main Street in 1941 and opened as the Buffalo Steakhouse. On September 11, 1946, the restaurant was renamed the Ghost Town Grill with an expanded interior designed by Paul von Klieben.
The faux chuckwagon fronting the open kitchen and von Klieben mural of a campfire scene are both still there. In 1946, the waitresses wore popular denim dresses designed by Marion Knott, available for purchase at Marion and Toni's Dress Shop. The seating capacity was 50 guests, but with time, that would expand as patio dining and multiple rear dining rooms were added.
In 1953, the restaurant's corner entrance was sealed up and a new entrance was added, where it remains today. After a short time as the Burger Wagon in the 1960s and 1970s, the Ghost Town Grill title returned with new outdoor dining on Main Street in the 1980s.
The decades bring change and new menu items, yet the very recognizable, 1941 corner building of the Grill is still there after all these years.
Note: This location DOES NOT accept the All Day or All Season Dining Plans. Operational hours vary and the restaurant may not be open every day of the week. The menu changes regularly and items shown in the video may not be available when you visit.
NOTE: the historical interior photo shown in the video is actually from the main Steakhouse, which is now a part of Spurs, not the Buffalo Steakhouse (now the Ghost Town Grill).
