Product liability laws are designed to protect consumers from defective products and services. These laws can be used to sue a manufacturer, distributor, or retailer who sells you a faulty product. Manufacturers in the motor vehicle industry who include faulty ignition switches or defective airbags in their vehicles, the legal responsibility a business has for manufacturing or selling dangerous or defective products-and it's one of the biggest concerns for manufacturers and distributors. Faulty or dangerous products can harm or injure consumers, lead to costly lawsuits and cause reputational damage.
The difference is that Public Liability relates to injury or property damage whilst you're on the job, and Products Liability relates to injury or damage caused by any products you distribute, supply or manufacture.
Product liability is the area of law in which manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retailers, and others who make products available to the public are held responsible for the injuries those products cause. Although the word "product" has broad connotations, product liability as an area of law is traditionally limited to products in the form of tangible personal property.
