Brilliant paced video, very well explained without all the unnecessary chat, loved the use of the meter as each light was added to show the values.

This is going to help me no end, I am just about to fit out 20 12v LED light fittings in a garden. Now I know what I should bear in mind when selecting a PSU and making connections. Thank you so much for this.

Well explained, i have had no dealings with constants current so found this usefull. amazing how much it is like connecting a load of batteries.

I used a system like this about 30 years ago it was variable voltage with current limiting. So current was set and voltage tuned up. Did have problems with some LEDs not liking the current going threw them wired like Christmas tree lights. Do the video again showing the voltage over each Of the LEDs.

So a 350ma driver with a 9w - 18w driver will work on any wattage lights between that range, so how do you work out how many lights you can run off that transformer? E.g is it say 3x3w =9w or 6x3w=18w?? Also what does the output voltage mean when it's got 25v - 50v?? Thanks

Thank you for this video. It is very informative. Where do I find the real world connection. I have a decorative light fitting with a combination of led bulbs (small ones 5 mm), about 29 of them connected in series whose led driver seems to fave faulted. I want to replace it. The old driver has no information except input ac at 220 volts, dc out put but driver seems to support 23 to 36 led bulbs. How do I decide which driver to replace it with. Most constant current drivers are rated at 300 ma. If the led draws lower current what happens. Voltage of the led is 3 volts. Please help.

So maybe I missed it but im guessing amps add together so if I have a led rated for a 350 ma driver if I had 3 in series it would require a 1050ma driver?

I’m looking to connect 8x 1m led strips which are at 400mA, 4.8W/m and 12V, I’m trying to connect these to a switch in the room what driver should I use?

So the Led strips with 151 resistors can not be put in parallel? To avoid voltage drop? If you know you have a couple to a few volts drop in series, then could you not up the volts ? does that not even out through the line and blow the first. Or multiple power sources need to be done with perfect short lines. In every line of 30 or 60 Leds, is voltage dropping slightly after every Led.

Could you please help me with a question: what will happen to LED lamp if I will replace DC 24-46V 300mA driver with DC36-65V 300mA driver? Will it burn out rapidly or will it work same, but that driver will be under less stress?

Do LED lights in a vehicle need a constant current driver to protect the LEDs from damage from the battery and alternator?

Hello I'll be thankful if you help me regarding power supply of my led Cob led which I got is flipflop type and its of 100w and on data sheet it mentioned 3500ma current and 34v but problem is ,I am not finding exact same output driver but someone suggested me to use two 50w and one 20w driver parallely connented (1500ma+1500ma+600ma=3600ma) by doing this it's exceeding 100ma current and even when I test voltage of that driver it show 48v... Will it be safe to power up the led or it'll damage the led? connecting driver parallely is a good idea to get my required current? On data sheet it's mentioned Forward current =3500ma Peak forward current (duty 1/10@10ms) =5250ma please help

You set the current and the voltage will adjust accordingly. (Constant current) - suggest you ask Meanwell as they have a range which covers this power level.

So if I parallely attach three driver for same company(1500ma+1500+600ma=3600ma) and use it? This is good idea or it'll damage the life of led?
