Agar uski job profile mei upsc ke barabar dum hota. Toh upsc ko kya jarurat hai alag se upsc ese conduct karane ki. Saare recruitment state wale kar lete . Baat wahi khatam thi. Abb apne hume hosiyaar bolke jab itna samanit kiya hai. Toh Thora aur example deke sunate hai:----- Jaise state pcs se bhi sdm hota hai. Thik hai. Aur upsc cse se bhi sdm hota hai.thik hai. Magar state pcs wala sdm agar acha record raha aur age wagera kaam rehte join Kiya tha state pcs mei. Toh muskil se DM ban retire hota hai. Woh bhi nahi milta asani se Wahi same sdm jo upsc cse se aata hai woh chief secretary ya secretary baan jata hai. Kyuki upsc cse wale ka fast promotion hai. Uski respect department mei jyada hai. Uska bol Bala jyada hai. Job bhi bohut tuff hai. Itna padhne likhne ke liye bohut saara energy, time, money aur bohut saara sacrifice chahiye. Tab jaake koi aadmi uss post ko pata hai. Thik hai. Agar aukaad nahi hai padhne ki toh accept Karo ki mai fail ho gaya. Maximum log itna padh nahi sakte bhale hi btech, mtech ho, PhD ho , iitian ho. Koi ek khaas aisa Banda hota hai jo sabse different hota hai. Usme hamesha ek determination, will power hota hai . Woh cheezo ko sikhta hai .. argument nahi karta ...kisi se jalta nahi. Uss tarah ke log ki upsc ese ya cse jaisa exam clear karte hai. Upsc ese mei seats bohut kaam hai. Bohut jyada tuff exam hai aaj ki date mei. Cpwd , mes har koi nahi le sakte. Electrical and mechanical mei aur bhi jyada competition hai. Ek upsc ka banda all India level pe har state ke bacho ko beat karke pahucha hai aur ek state ka banda sirf apne state ke logo se hi maximum fighting Mari hai. Toh jyada deserving kaun hai upsc ka candadite ya state ka. Comparision karne se pehle aukaad apni pata honi chahiye. Tab baat karni chahiye. Samjhe. Hosiyar toh mai hu hi kyuki Bihar board wala nahi hu jo har baar dhandli karte hai. Tumhare yaha matriculation board toppers paise khilake bante hai. Hamare state mei sab merit mei chalta hai.

May be because there's no lucrative market for additional mtech per se. In a sense that it doesn't give you much advantage over btech counterparts from job perspective. If you score well in gate, go for PSUs or govt service. Here mtech has no additional benefit. Gate/ese marks is sufficient. Or you can persue masters from IITs or top NITs whose cutoff are slightly less. They have good enough placement opportunities in core as well as non core sector. But here you'd be competing with Btechs of these institutes because most of these companies are there to find IITians and NITians with skills, not necessarily an mtech. Although opportunities in non core would be limited as an mtech in civil. There are few core sector companies that favour masters, but they are limited and relatively lesser paying.

If you have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university , then you are only eligible for this executive engineer group A gazetted post. If you join as junior engineer, you will get this post for few years before your retirement. Plus those who are from upsc ese exam they don't like JE's to sit equivalent to them. So a lot of politics is there inside the department. At some point you will feel for resignation. Try for upsc cse if possible or join state pcs and get sdm, pps post. To be honest , there is no element of power in engineering jobs. Atleast in state pcs, If you perform well you can become IAS before retirement. And you know what is the prestige of IAS officer in the society. No executive engineer or chief engineer of cpwd is equal to him. So work hard if you really want successful life. We have life before job and there is one life after job. After joining a department, you will feel what I actually said

No. You get GPRA type IV quarter ( a 3 bhk flat) as Executive engineer. As Superintending Engineer you get type V quarter ( which is a duplex if you are in a smaller location). As chief Engineer you get type VI quarter ( which may be called a bunglow)

Its a subjective question and really depends on your preferences. If promotion and good perks are your priorities then definitely railways is better. If on the other hand, good location is your priority, CPWD is better. Work experience wise, both are equally good

When the time of posting comes, you will be asked to give posting options. That time, you can opt for planning. However, opting planning post at the start of career is not a good idea. Field is where you learn the project management, contract management and technical supervision. The planning posts are opted by persons who have ot some field exposure Without that working in planning unit will not be satisfactory.

@@poetictriangle1037 Yes, you definitely can switch between planning and field role. You'll be able to switch between roles when your name comes up for transfer to a new location as well. But it's always not that easy, a lot depends on the vacancy as well. And you can stay in a particular role for a very limited period of time. Department has made it mandatory to switch.

Most looser candidate who never qualify say this words

Most of the people doesn't know about CPWD and pre assume that it is a corrupt department by reading the name ie PWD. By the way CPWD is one of the oldest department in the history of india and its contribution is countless in developing india and its infrastructure..

I know this department very well. A department that doesn't work itself and outsources each and every work to a contractor and after that takes a bribe to pass their bills.

No words to explain. I presume you must have had some experience with some corrupt officials. But dont generalise the entire department based on few. Yes there may be few who are corrupt and I am sure they will be out of the system very soon. As on date, CPWD is one of the most organised departments. It is not publicised that much as it doesnt have any money of its own. As far as executive Engineer post is concerned, it is 90% responsible for most of the government building infrastructure if not 100%. Current central vista is a live example. The project was done in limited time and with highest quality. Had the post been corrupt, we would have seen the complaints about delay, quality etc. So please dont generalise

I have spoken about it in detail in many of my videos. Yes you are correct that the vacancies are coming down across all government recruitment platforms. And thats because government is now shifting towards minimum participation in economic activities. It happens everywhere when a country moves from poor to flourished nation. All developed countries have this. The economic activities are handed over to public through opening private participation. And thats why I believe in coming years number of government jobs will come down further. That being said, during transition period from socialist governance to capitalist governance, the job market struggle. and thats what is happening in India. So a sad truth that getting a satisfactory job is difficult in current times
