He is a biologist so he must have said something at that era based on the knowledge we had at that time, we can't say someone transphobe for that. He even had talked about the rights of trans people so... It's just that he is a very direct person rather than the atheists you mentioned, who compromise their own rationale, logical thoughts just to please relegious people also and for the sake of channel survival.
