No wonder Ren loves you brother. This is by far the best breakdown of Money Game 1 I've seen so far. You and Ren have so much in common, both educated well with knowledge of history, governments, society, and World events combined with an impressive vocabulary and talent. I believe if the 2 of you collaborate on something in the future it would be sick AF. 🤯

It is INSANE to me that you catch absolutely ALL of his bars when he goes into a super fast cadence in ONE hit, not very often do you need to back up a track and listen again. Once in a while, yes. But it absolutely blows my mind how easy it is for you to get all these in just one go. AWESOME reaction, once again. And lots to think about.

Not only catching the bars but finding diffirent angles how to dissect them and finding multiple meaning in most of them. I have found Knox through Ren (lot of people maybe had it switched) ;) But Im really impressed by him and his outlook on Ren’s music. Yet to explore Knox music myself but after seeing his reaction Im very compeled to do so.

I saw an old Instagram, where he was asked what video disappointed him the most, view wise? He answered Money Game 1. Because, he thought that it was his most impressive theatrical performance up to this point. I totally agree. With the release of Hi Ren, his music and astounding talent was brought to the forefront and this masterpiece is getting the attention it deserved from day one. Ren, definitely keeps folks guessing. What is this guy going to do next. I saw a reactor stressing about what he was going to do to the guy in the chair. Well done, Ren. That means, the whole set up had the DESIRED impact. Your breakdown, was as thoughtful and well put as usual. Please do Money Game 2. Business economics in a nursery rhyme. Lol

Yep. It's the first song I saw of his, and it genuinely saddens me that his other stuff is more viewed. Not that it doesn't deserve it too, but because Money Game deserves *so much more.* It's legitimately a masterpiece, imo. I hope it will be seen as such one day, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, not like 2.3 million views is bad... but that shit deserved at least 10 mil imo.

I couldn’t even make it through this video the first time I saw it. The violent imagery was too disturbing. I also couldn’t figure out what the bag head guy represented. It was all too obscure and creepy. Maybe that’s why it didn’t get the traction he expected.

Yay more Ren, it’s Romain Axisa on Guitar. My understanding is that he’s the hostage/someone powerful. Ren makes him see the error of his ways (draw the eyes) but then realises that he is part of the problem (mirror) and kills himself. The wellies and poncho are a serial killer/hitman type vibe. 🐇🕳️🖤

ren and samuel said that money game part 1 took between 150 and 180 takes, stuff like getting kicked off the location, lights getting turned off etc. romain(from the big push) is the guy who's playing the guitar, it was a very cold shoot and poor romain was freezing cold.

Love the reaction as always. It always fascinates me to see how you are able to connect the dots so well especially when it comes to world knowledge and not just knowledge of one area. Also the poncho is green, in cinematography green symbolises greed and envy. One of the greatest examples of how that visual is used effectively is Breaking Bad, Walter always wears green while Hank's wife wears purple to signify her innocence and distance from the greed. In the sense of Ren it makes me think that his character is someone consumed by that greed as you explained yourself

Amazing breakdown Knox! You came to many of the same conclusions I did at the end, regarding the idea that Ren realized that he was being the hypocrite and burned himself instead. With the eyes, my thoughts were a little less sure. I thought of the quote: 'you gave them eyes, yet they cannot see' but I hadn't caught that the eyes could stand for accountability and interesting that it was he himself who drew the eyes. Fascinating! (and an amazing video all around)

Despite the many flaws of the internet (well highlighted by Burnham's track which I know you know), the fact that we can not only find artists like Ren, but then be guided to other tremendously talented and intelligent artists as yourself, it's a grand time in many ways, regardless of the downsides of the Money Game. Just finding you now after falling in love with many of Ren's songs not long ago, you're absolutely killing these reactions, I'm already binging the rest of your Ren reactions. You're so knowledgeable and informed on so many of these topics. Thanks for making these reactions! And huge props to Ren to for his amazing work :) I really appreciate how you've got a habit of rewinding 5-10 seconds after nearly every bit of paused commentary to make sure you're catching the full song. It's something I sometimes feel other reactors end up missing bits of the song because they don't do it. You're so detail oriented and you catch nearly every bit of the song and videography. Your reaction to Money Game 2 was just as amazing too! I'm making my way through your reactions to the Jenny's tale trilogy and I'm already excited to see that you reacted to "Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil" not long after those, because they really reminded me of that song, and I can't wait to hear your take on that one as well :)

Ren has a cool short video showing them practicing the choreography for Money Game 1. Money Game 2 was during the lockdowns so it's a different type of video. (He also has an acapella version of Money Game 2 walking along the shoreline)

Knox I absolutely marvel at your vast knowledge of so many different things. Your common/general knowledge (hope that is the right word, I'm sorry, I'm German) is impressive. Be it philosophy, history or politics, add to that your knowledge about rap, writing, music production and so on, you just enrich every breakdown with so much insight! Thank you!

To me, he suddenly realises that he is equally as guilty as the people he blames so, like a Buddhist monk, he tries to drive change by getting everyone's attention through setting himself on fire. Before, he tried to get people to see but that didn't work. Could be wrong! :) Love your breakdowns - always so interesting - and rush to watch when I see them come up!

I've not even watched this yet but just wanted to say soon as I saw you'd done a react to it I literally fist pumped the air and said "Yeaaaayah!" - so that says to me (and now you!) that your reacts Excite me!! Can't wait to watch it now so I'll stop gushing lol. Edit post watch - Superb reaction & analysis from the first few seconds where you capture and dissect everything down to even the sound of the rope - despite numerous watches I'd never noticed that, but from now on will always notice it in the same way I can never see a match flame in the same 3D way after watching one burn whilst on 'shrooms (😆) and it became and will remain a 5D living, breathing energy 🔥 - to your insight and knowledge on social and political history not just America but UK history too (so many American reactors I find have quite limited UK knowledge around our politics etc), to the way you are not only able to capture but recite word for word a bar instantly - people call Ren a savante - perhaps you are one too... I am hoping, hoping🤞 before Ren leaves Canada back to UK that you can have him as a guest on your channel - a discourse between the two of you and your Samurai sword minds I could happily watch (and learn from) for hours! A collaboration with the 2 of you would be even doper💥

Wow! Knox man! Always enjoy you reactions and insightful analysis based upon passion, enthusiasm, experience, knowledge and intelligence. Love the passion for your own music but also the generosity to appreciate and enjoy other great musicians like Ren! I also admire the fact that your knowledge extends to global issues and history and not just your own country making you really well rounded. Best wishes and success with your own music. Much love to you and your family as that is the raison d'etre!

I'd love to see you and Ren chatting about music and life. I can see why he values your reactions so much! An interesting note abut the history of money in England, is that our coins lost their intrinsic literal metal-weight value during the reign of Henry VIII (the one with all the wives). He had the mint adulterate the coins, mixing so much copper into the alloy that they no longer had unilateral international value as lumps of precious metal. Other countries refused to accept them in trade because they were worth less. The silver rubbed off on the most prominent relief parts of the coins, notably the King's portrait, so often that he was referred to as "old copper-nose".

Hey man, I didn't know there was such a thing as reaction videos until 2 weeks ago. And until 2 weeks ago, I didn't know Ren existed either. Ever since KZfaq first showed me Ren, I can't do anything but watch everything of Ren, so I also watched various reaction videos just to see if Ren also makes such a massive impression on other people, but I was rather a bit disappointed by those reaction videos because I didn't really understand the point of them...until now. I watched this video because you reacted to one of my favourite Ren songs - where somehow EVERY song of Ren's is my favourite song - and I have to say that you impressed me extremely! I really didn't expect what you did here and I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! And also your interview with Ren touched me deeply and is the best interview I've ever been lucky enough to see. Even though I don't understand the point of reaction videos, you convinced me and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you! Subscribed!

WoW Knox, you hit this out of the ball park… this was an amazing breakdown not only for the music, but the history, your very knowledgeable, it’s impressive, my only contrast to your thoughts would be about our oppressors in modern day America. It’s the Banks, the banks have controlled the governments and the government control the people. It’s the same banks that control both sides of all wars, as it turns out, it’s a very lucrative business model for them to continue all the way up to this day until now, it’s all collapsing in on itself as the BRICS nations who will be joined very shortly by Saudi Aribia and the moment that happens, it’s the end of the Petro Dollar as we know it. So, it’s time to kiss it good bye, but all wars all throughout history have been Bankers’ wars. They fund both sides. This is why we have always had a never ending perpetual war going on. It’s one of the bigger con games going. Unfortunately for us, it’s not been the only scam. I could talk all day and night for the next 20 years and it would make peoples hearts melt. For now, this is it. That’s as far as I go. And one last thing, I agree with you on your immigration thoughts, however, the problem today with immigration is not that America as a whole is against it, we are still the most welcoming nation on earth, the problem comes in because our enemies are now using this against us by basically weaponizing this and it’s forcing the recent increase of the illegal immigrants coming into the US, so this is the difference and root cause of this issue today. Again, it’s just another divide and concur antic which just so happens to be the oldest trick in the book of deception. How to be a tyrant 101 should be required reading, just kidding there is no such book, but there is George Orwell’s “1984” written as a fictional story that happens to be more true than some of our own history books in public schools. Instead we have and use propaganda mechanisms to indoctrinate the upcoming generation and fill them with untruths of history’s past, there is a reason school kids today are so uneducated. Not all, but most unfortunately. And this in reality is all mostly due to the Bankers who control the purse strings from the top.
