Fun fact, Kendrick was supposed to only do the Hook on this song and Eminem heard it and told him to do a verse and Kendrick pretty much thought of it on the spot, he talked about doing this song with Eminem in an interview before

I love it. The guitar riffs in the song is from "the game of love" . A song by the Mindbenders in 1965. It's like they had it playing in the room while they recorded this. This is FUGGIN' FIRE.

I’m gonna be honest Knox. I’ve never heard your music before. But got Dayyyum can you break down and Em song. I know all of his music up and down and I’m pretty sure I’ve caught almost all the doubles and triples and entendres he has ever had. Until I watched your reactions. I also need to add I listen to ALOT of other em reactors. They all pale in comparison to you man. Please keep this up. The story that Eminem invited kendrick to the booth and he arrived with all his boys and em told him no you're only writing your verse with my producer, he does it, writes the verse. Em then reveals that was a test to see whether kendrick actually writes his verses as the lyricism is out this world, then accepts he's one of the best lyricists

I think all the "eight" reverences- dinner at eight and hit the brakes eight times- both refer to MMLP2 being his 8th studio album, just tying it all back to the double meaning of the song

Man you should definitely listen to more mmlp2, it's my favourite Eminem album and it's full of extremely lyrical songs that show off his technical abilities even more, my recommendations for you are legacy, brainless, wicked ways, rhyme or reason, don't front (this one is only on the exclusive mmlp2 CD which you buy along with COD ghosts) etc.

30:27 I think the movie ur refrancing is Punch Drunk Love..its a Adam Sandler movie that Eminem cameos in... Kinda funny he references a story telling movie, while telling a story about a girl that portrays the story of his own life while writing a song in a story format...anybody else's head hurt?

This track was produced by Rick Rubin. Wordplay aside, I always thought this and a lot other Rick Rubin tracks from this album are noisy and takes away from the listening experience. But this breakdown was on fuckin point and gave me so many references i missed and didn't understand earlier. KH you a G! 🔥🙏🏼
