15:11 If u like the idea of abandoning Mario in Skyworld then just save Zelda instead of Peach since ur playing as Mario and Pit and not fighting against them meaning if u pick Mario instead of Pit then the character ur playing overwrites Mario meaning you've actually abandoned Mario in Skyworld

Even if he would to do just that, I have a theory on how that WOULDN'T work. Apparently, when MKHT does these runs, when cutscenes that have you select your character end, the game auto-selects a character that is the same everytime, like having MKHT's character overwrite Kirby and not Mario. Same thing in The Lake Shore. MKHT's character overwrites Yoshi and not Link, or in this video, the character overwrites Pit and not Mario

holding L will bring up all characters, selecting your first character while still holding L will make all extra lives become that character on most levels, some levels will make you have a second or more characters
