Perfectly depicts knife violence amongst the youts. I’m American, and stabbings aren’t nearly as prevalent here, I’ve done extensive research about knife violence in the UK and this perfectly depicts a situation that could go left so quickly. Laura Nwogu I mean the 90s hip hop scene was amazing but in terms of power and money... the current black music market is incomparably better - there’s much better black infrastructure and labels. Look at the examples of U.K. artists signed to black American labels. I guess my point is I’d rather have mumble rap and black money and power than soulful hip hop only. I guess you’d point to the negative impact it (shit rap) has on black culture but there’s still a balance to be had and you can’t tell me J Cole, Kendrick etc aren’t real hip hop fr.

Nikola Mikic He’s talking about the epidemic of violence, murders and crime going on in London; “duck this smoke” refers to dodging meaning that you can’t hide from the beef and you’ll end up getting hurt from it, you can’t hide from the truth of this violence or someday you’ll get caught up in it. Smoke is a warning of a fire and it alerts passerby’s, the fire in this case is London and rather than running away from it or ignoring it Knucks is saying to tackle it head on.

@damian To give you a more analytical, opininated reply, "London's Burning" is an old nursery rhyme from 1580 after the Burning of Edinburgh in 1544. The change of lyrics is mostly known for the 1666 great fire of london when london had a really big fire that crossed miles. A lot of people died and it took a lot of time to rebuild the structure that you see today. "You can't duck this smoke" refers to people shooting and stabbing people in london. Its a tight knit community, (metaphorically similar to the houses back in 1666) all the gangs that are beefing each other live 10 minutes away. Since civilians who are not affiliated with a gang live in close proximity from members of other gangs, we can never truly avoid/"duck" the mayhem/"smoke" around us. He asks you "can't you see london's burning?" because there's a big crisis with gun and knife crime and it's like people can't see the fire when its crossing the nation. You can tell its about gang crime because the next line he says is "Man know about serving, man know bout the pot and stove" which means serving under a gang and cooking crack to sell. I hope that makes the imagery clearer. It is just what I intepreted from it and from the replies, londoners know exactly what he was talking about.

@@Zeeshanbeats I'm from Germany. A german rapper named Luciano did a song called "Mios mit Bars" which is UK Drill. He also has a feature with Skengdo & AM called "Flex". And so i searched for more UK rap.

THIS SONG IS GENIUS. the start is the continuation of the reporter at the end, when he is arrested. He’s living the life that we know ends with him being arrested and his friend murdering someone. It makes you consider the outcome throughout the verses, gives a whole new perspective to everything he says. at the chorus he ends it with “wait true say i never did...” thats him realising he should’ve stayed at home. Knucks the GOAT.🐐🐐

This is far better than drill fam, sick and tired of hearing about coke and shanking.. Just polluting the yout dem minds .. Like bruv where is real music gone bruv... Every body is a gangster, get a man on his knees with a pumpy between his eyes he gonna scream for his life. 98% ain't t about that life, painting a fake picture for the kids to colour in. End of days, bad is now good and good is bad and laughed at.

That’s what the music industry is for. To corrupt the youth. Record companies are invested in private prisons, so since it’s a business, gotta make crime popular to keep the prisons full. it’s not a conspiracy. it’s facts.
