digikey is amazing. Same day shipping, they no longer have a minimum, and low shipping charges. I get most of my parts through other channels but occasionally purchase things from them when necessary.

thanks for the videos. What source would you recomend for replacement parts

have you ever considered greasing your screw in lightbulbs so they don't squeek on your videos?

Hey, where would I buy a rectifier/transistor for a 3500 watt Powerbright inverter? I had a stinkbug.. well you know the rest. Its burnt, its on the positive side of the inverter. Its what you were aiming your temp gun at. I thought that they were rectifiers. Where can I buy them, or that entire bank on the side?

I can't find some of the videos on the PowerBright. I have one and when I turn on the switch, it just gives a LOOOONNNGGG endless beeeeeeeeeeeep... Any ideas? Where can I find the manual online?
@knurlgnar24 Жыл бұрын
Not sure about the manual but you most likely have a shorted FET. Ohm across them with a multimeter and you should be able to find the failed one.

@@knurlgnar24 Thank you! Thanks for posting the videos. Did you change one of those in your repairs?
@knurlgnar24 Жыл бұрын
@@macedonianproductions4497 I don't remember in detail specific repairs, but in general one can ohm out transistors and diodes to determine what has failed and replace those that test bad. Sometimes additional parts need to replaced as well but often just the power components are damaged. If you are able it is also a good idea to test the drive circuitry as well.

How much does it cost and what would be a fair price?

These are nice inverters if you can find one in good condition today. The 2200W model I'd pay $300 for today given its age and it will outperform most 3k to 4k inverters. If they were still available I'd pay more new.

Powerbright has no customer support whatsoever. I have a 6kw unit and it lasted 2 months. I used it for a 1800w pancake compressor and that's IT.

Thanks for the info. I've never tried to contact them but all of their products that I have used/seen appeared to be a pretty good value and performed well. I'm guessing yours had a manufacturing defect rather than simply a poor design - too bad Powerbright didn't stand behind their product.
