To this day I see many who defend Koba totally, others who defend him but do not justify his actions, many who say that he was not really a villain, many who support his hatred but who believe that he went too far... we all feel different things about Koba. but everyone always agrees on something.. His character was written brilliantly.

Rocket loyalty is on another level

Koba was literally one of Caesar's best soldiers, you can see how Caesar completely trusts him. In all those years they created a bond, they respected each other 😔😔😔😔

These movies are so well written, Koba lived all his life in a cage and ended up dying in essentially a cage. this movie started with the zoom in on caesar and ended on it, the cinematography in all of these are amazing. I will always love these films.

I low key felt bad for Koba because he never got to experience the love of a human. Ceasar had Will, his dad, his girlfriend and probably even the nurse who took care of his dad. Koba had no one.

I remember watching this in theaters with my friends way back in the day. Now I just watched Kingdom with my friends a week ago!! Where did the time go??!!

To call Koba one of the greatest villains of all time is an understatement. He's up there with Thanos, Killmonger, Loki, Silva from Skyfall, Tavington from The Patriot, General Hummel from The Rock, and the MUTO's from the 2014 Godzilla for me.

I'm seeing this movie with you in this reaction. The funniest thing is that I've already seen War of the Planet of the Apes and only realized now that I've never seen Dawn. So when we watched War of the planets of the apes, I was so lost and kept asking my boyfriend a lot of things. I was like, Caesar had babies?!? Koba became a villain?!? 😂 It was funny. Now, I'm looking forward to seeing you react to the next movie. 🙌🏼

This film will blow your mind the motion capture work is even greater than Rise and War is even better than Dawn. Koba makes a great villian and you can kind of see why he is the way he is. He’s like one side of a coin and Caesar is the other because Caesar had a great upbringing with Will as a baby to a teenager. Anyway enjoy the movie looking forward to your comments etc on it. You may need to turn on the subtitles for a while because Caesar is the only apes who really speaks at the moment they just sign a lot. I always love how Gary Oldmans character is so confident their group of small humans could roll into the apes territory and quote “kill them all.” Sure as of now they have the firepower but go into a wooded area to fight intelligent apes. The smarter fighters (apes) win. Almost every time.

36:04 in the comic War for the Planet of the Apes. It is shown that Rocket is really angry because he lost his son Ash. Rocket chases Koba wildly and with irrepressible anger. Rocket: You killed Ash! You killed my son! koba: Son is traitor like father But Koba managed to take one of the weapons near the bus. And threatens that he will kill Rocket.

Make sure you watch the 1960's version. It's a classic.

You can see from the beginning of the movie that Koba was one of the closest to Caesar until humans showed up. he don't hesitate to go help Caesar when he screams for the bear attack.

I loved this reaction! Your excitement every time Caesar spoke was awesome and I'm so glad you enjoyed the VFX. Performance capture for this film was really advanced and I am obsessed with how much was practical and on-location. Toby Kebbell who played Koba did such a great job. I also love how you commented on Caesar's presence as a character. Andy Serkis really is the Godfather of all motion capture and I am forever so thankful we have these films to prove that even if a character is digitally rendered, it doesn't mean they are without emotion and it doesn't mean that you don't need to have acting skill to play a character who is fully CG. I don't think Koba was inherently evil but that he became evil. If the apes never encountered humans again Koba wouldn't have betrayed Caesar.
