The interviewer...the interviewer...the interviewer... I listened and within the first 3 minutes I was quite irritated by this guy and then it hit me... Greatness is displayed here in Kobe's ability to sit for over 20 minutes, maintain excellence and composure and verbal respect despite his 'opponent'. You could quite possibly miss all the knowledge Kobe has to share because of the host's abrasive and condescending approach to this interview. But 3 minutes in, Kobe's demeanor is what encourages me to keep listening.

Yes I agree, and first off, look at the interviewers body language. Its so slouchy, and his tone makes you want to slap him. He is so horrible! I commend Kobe for staying this interview, I'd call that guy out and leave if I was Kobe, but Kobe didnt because hes great!

This guy didn’t realize when Kobe was taking about “playing with person’s insecurities” it was directed towards him. But went over his head. The interviewer asked for an example and he hit him with one. Lol Kobe is a 🐐

Not a big Kobe fan but he definitely impressed me with his response to such a shitty interviewer. I like how Kobe remained composed and stayed on point considering the constant rude interruptions and just plain weird a$$ Segway - "US kids are now sweatshops for China??" wtf?? that was just outta bounds. This dude has no business interviewing intelligent beings.

The interviewer is very disrespectful, Kobe is a very prestigious person and has a hard work ethic reputation not only in basketball but in multiple overall healthy aspects of life. I mean yeah, maybe Kobe sometimes said things or came out seemingly over confident; but that just comes with the pure drive, natural responses, and emotion of being a highly physical male athlete in a professional sport. This guy is successful man and this interviewer is only hurting himself by being disrespectful; how many people know about Kobe and idolize him, how many people know this interviewer??

True, however Kobe is part of the business world as well, being considered in some light an entrepreneur since he is paid for his own work, being contracted for a team that is part of a professional association for professional athletes he is paid by how much value he brings to the marketplace through his work; the marketplace in this sense would be the NBA. This is why he is highly paid athlete because he has worked hard to put himself in the position to where he has become value and is paid more than others in NBA; this has also opened up other business opportunities for Kobe Bryant since he is an icon to basketball players around the world companies have targeted Kobe Bryant to use his name as a advertising and marketing point of sale, this is why he has contracts with companies such as Nike, Kobe is a business man and has been involved in investments since his first shoe contract with Nike, also any basketball camps or anything Kobe does independently is also considered free enterprise, Kobe also has been known to donate money to non-profit organization, and is now being interviewed by WSJ which is about his upcoming book business he is investing in and creating. Giving information is learning, because you allow yourself to be open to new ideas, by being close minded (the interviewer) not able to receive intelligence from Kobe's wisdom, only hurts himself. People become optimal when they work with one another, not deny each other

I have to tell you, this was one of the most condescending, cringe worthy interviews of an individual, whose business acumen should have commanded him more respect, that I have ever seen. in fact I showed it to my students as an example of what NOT to do as a journalist.

The interviewer is definitely not a real journalist. He didn't do his homework, instead he kept using his own limited understanding of human being ability to be a multi faceted success when they really know who they are and what their passion is. Terrible job! He thought he's interviewing some dumb person who only know how to dribble a ball and assume the adults in the room where they are the "smart" ones. Horrible job WSJ...very little respect for Kobe!

This was super uncomfortable; it felt like a job interview. The host was constantly asking Kobe difficult questions as if to prove Kobe knows what he's talking about. Still, Kobe knocked most of them out of the park and showed that he doesn't know everything but he does know where he's going. In a way I think this was a good way for Kobe to show the business community he means business.

Terrible job interviewing by Dennis. Examples: 1) "You were thinking this when you were 19???" 2) "So America is the Sweatshop for China?" 3) "Do you think your life being on teams, helps you truly understand a team in the BUSINESS setting. Maybe it's totally different! I mean if you need someone to pass the ball or block out that's fine..." 4) Wait you were playing basketball and writing a novel!?? 5) "I have no idea! Tell me!" 5).. among many sad others.. ...

I came up with a new verb: to kobe bryant ; meaning: a conscious effort to do the necessary work in order to become the best version of yourself with laser focus on every little detail which might make the difference on the outcome. This becomes a type of *food* for their sad way of thinking. This interviewer is ridiculously absurd, condescendingly idiotic. Horrible job WSJ! He thinks he's so "smart" and asking the dumbest questions and constantly interrupting. I am very impressed the way Kobe could answer and pivot with such poise and intelligence. Speaks volume of who Kobe was. Still hurt to address Kobe in past tense.

I agree to everyone's comments regarding the interviewer's way of asking questions. He obviously has lack of experience on "how to be the best" at what he does. I've been listening to youtube videos while working on a different tab, and I had to click back on the youtube tab just to see who this interviewer was. Got irritating hearing this guy but definitely picked up some wisdom from Kobe B. as always.

The commentator really needed more experience and imo just more wisdom to ask better questions for an interview like this. Kobe has incredible patience to not get peaved by the basic questions and comments this guy makes. He seems to be entertained with the next question rather than actually listening to kobe. Also if you can take away anything from Kobe its not about the achievements or the stats as much as its about the craft. This guy is very focused on the wrong things...

The Wall Street Journal needs to do a recheck on this interviewer. The way he speaks and certain parts of the interview with Kobe, he just feels very disrespectful and incompetent.

This interviewer was very odd. The whole time, Kobe was bending himself in a half to give thoughtful answers, then the interviewer would follow up by picking the most insignificant part of the answer then tell Kobe to develop on it. At times It was positively challenging but for the most part it made it just awkward to listen to.
