It’s obvious if you’re capable of thinking, the basketball played during that era was badly diluted, even the era where lebron dominated was more competitive overall...kobe was a key asset to the league in the post michael jordan era, a reason for people to keep watching because ratings went wayyy down after michael retired. @@adamc1667 not always and MJ played for a long time b4 pip was drafted. MJ always wanted to guard the best player but once they had pip it made more sense for pip. But man watch MJ and Dominiqe. GL stopping the human highlight reel lol

And they it was hands down MJ.. MJ was great but he didnt face any SG near his talent. Please dont mention Drexler or Miller.

Guess you forget an old MJ was locking up a prime TMac… 😂 y’all better stop playing with Jordan!
@tmt614511 ай бұрын
@chrisaustin7893 😂 I heard someone use the game against Vince Carter as well to say old Mj could lock up elite talent. Meanwhile we've seen what happen to Mj with A.I when he tried to seriously strap up the new era elite players while Mj was still winning championships 😳 Didn't look too good at all😄
@TruStory9711 ай бұрын
@@tmt6145 Lol, I don’t know if you a fan or if this is criticism. I do know, that while winning championships, AI in 96 I believe did a good crossover on MJ and made a tough shot with a hand in his face, but also other than that okay from that specific game, what else did AI do against MJ? 😂😂😂 Man people need to really watch from 96-98 and his Wizard years. MJ was locking mfs up and still in the top 10 in scoring and in the MVP talks, from 38-40 bro. Man’s was cooking everybody!!! Why you think they still tell stories about him?

That was the unseen film room study. KB saw something he could exploit.

Know your enemy's weakness and exploit it. Kobe studied his opponents and made them look like rookies, he was ruthless. RIP Mamba and Little Mamba

Kobe was an ELITE defender. Doesn't get mentioned enough.

Look at the foot work that's what played a major role in wade getting stopped kobe is amazing how he challenged the left hand and bounced to the right side so wade couldn't go anywhere
@ehrren722811 ай бұрын
Made him think and work. Took away his options & forced him in the direction Wade didn't want. Stayed super close. Brilliant.

Kobe the only person that can start defense from one side of the court and get his opponent to go the way he wanted all the way to the other side of the court

You can't tell me Kobe didn't study that man. He knew exactly where to send him

The discipline to work very hard defensively for 22 seconds against a prime dwade and stay down without going for the pump fake at the end is truly remarkable.

Kobe cut off his right and forced him left, each time Wade went to his right, Kobe pressed up on his right immediately. That's playing defense, not using his hands to hold but just all legs and quickness, Kobe was underrated as a defender. Legend!

Picked him up 94'. Turned him, didn't foul, and caused a turnover. That's DEFENSE!! You can tell there's a great respect between the 2 also.

And people say Kobe didn't deserve the 9 time All Defensive First reams and 3 time All Defensive Second teams, ridiculous!
