Thank you for your review and the ine you linked as well! How are you going with it, 6 months down the track. The Kobo appeals to me because I don't want to give Amazon money, but I'm a bit worried about the book selection compared to Amazon.

I think it completely depends on your country. For me it's a lot more accessible in terms of borrowing from my local library via Kobo. And I get you - cause' i also don't want to give my moolah to Amazon. I had no idea it's already been six months... times goes by fast. I have to admit I do reach for my Kindle more often due my kindle unlimited subscription.

@@melsanders4038 oh in that case! Yeah kobo let's us Aussie peeps borrow books from the library via Libby/Overdrive. MEANWHILE the Americans can loan books via Amazon kindles. But yeah the downside is the whole no kindle unlimited. Cause' I think most authors (esp indie) go there.

@RebeccaAmalia thank you! Is there any other way to get Indie writers Ebooks? Since the Kobo takes many different file formats. I'll do some googling.

I cant choose between this one and Kobo Clara 2e I like the style and white more on libra but Clara is easy to bring in small bags 😭 I don’t know if it will be annoying to read on a small screen tho I also heard libra has ghosting issues

I haven't seen the other Kobo's out in the wild before. But if you love your small bags it's going to be an absolute pain. And I learnt it the hard way - that the screen does scratch (the damn zippers inside fml). Didn't realise until quite recently. Hopefully you find one that's the best for you! Thanks for watching x

How does it hold up 1 year after ? Is the battery life still decent ? Also does the kobo libra lock up from time to time ?

I haven't used it often enough to really give you a proper review :( I do, however, realise the battery is not as good from when I initially got it - that's all I can say sorry 😭

They have their version of KU. But I think KU has a better selection atm

For this particular Kobo you can listen to it on the actual e-reader

The short version is I like the button and the texture of the kobo. They're both pretty decent but it just depends on your reading habits.

I'm from Australia so we never had those ads to begin with. So I think it depends on where you're from? You probably need to ask the company.

I'm buying libra coz paperwhite has flush glass over screen, which prob takes away from the quality of the text.

Bought that thing and sold it back immediately 2 days later, due to severely limited library of LitRPGs. Got back to my Kindle Oasis 2 and basking myself in Kindle Unlimited addiction. All the while thinking of either getting an android-based e-ink ereader because I also have a library on Google Play Books, but then scratched that and got a Kindle Fire HD 8 plus, instead. Already have Fire HD 10 plus for comics and magazines.
