As I am a big Nick Carver fan, I like the straight on shot better than the side one. One of the things Nick is so great about is the balancing of sky light and artificial light. Love the shots. I do this with a Zeiss Ikonta 6X9 but have to cover the film number hole with tape and then use a lot of separation between the shots but I love the 6x9 format on 35 makes a nice 24mm x

These are awesome! The photo of the shops by the highway was really cool to make a panorama of!

Wow, just found you, thinking of coming back to film. That scanning seems difficult to my old mind, but maybe I will figure it out! Well done!

Great pictures. From the pictures of the highway shops I definitely liked the first frontal one by far the best.

Thank you iso much for the shoutout, I love that people are still getting use of that video ☺️🤘🏽 second, I also had the same issue with my Pentax 6x7 and decided to get a CLA and the issue went away. Cheers! ✌🏽✨

@@pushingfilm I need to put out an updated one as after that video I purchased a kit from China that included a mask for the viewfinder which is pretty helpful. Thank you again 😄✌🏽

@@2071photo Oh nice! I've always just used one that I cut out of black paper... It's not very accurate though 😂 I imagine a mask for the film plane would be another useful thing to improve results.

@@pushingfilm I’ve got that too, it only really helps when it comes to scanning to have a black point to white balance off of but then you miss the image in the sprocket holes so it’s a trade off for sure.

Nice method! P.s. I had the same with my 6x7 and had to send it for repair. I would advise Amsterdam Camera Repairs. He is very familiar with this one and made a couple of my 6x7s brand new again.

I have been doing this on an RB67 and have really been enjoying the results. Not sure if you have tried but vertical pano's for portraits can turn out really cool. I liked the angled panos of the shops better as the gradient of the hill distracted from the straight shop lines I thought.

Nice! I have tried in the past, but struggle a lot more with composing vertical panos.

Been wanting to try some pano shots on my Pentax 6x7, love that wide shot. Mine also has the issue where the shutter locks open. Mine seems to do it regardless of shutter speed, it just always does it after it's been sitting for more than a couple of hours at a time. Once the first shot locks up, and I pull the battery to reset it, it doesn't lock up anymore until it sits for a while again. I've just been tricking the camera into thinking there's film in it so I can dry fire it once before loading, then being aware that I have to shoot the whole roll without letting it sit too long. Might have to try to get into it and clean that electromagnet contact to see if it helps.
@pushingfilm
@pushingfilm Жыл бұрын
Yep, that's pretty much the exact same with mine! Back to back shots are fine if the camera doesn't sit for a minute

Oh no, I just realized that I had a moment on my latest roll for my 67 where the shutter didn’t look like it closed. And then it randomly closed later. I’m thinking that shot it just gonna be a fully exposed frame. Worst part is that it was a provia roll which are already a pain to find haha😂

i was thinking maybe in the same way using 65mm Kodak vision in the Pentax 67 removing the flenses the extra 3mm is fitting .
@pushingfilm

Yeah there's even sellers who trim 65mm down and roll it into backing paper ready to shoot!

Thank you for this video! I'm hoping to follow with my Pentax 6x7 as well. What were your "custom" measurements of 120 lead into 35mm? Thanks!

An interesting video as always. However I have 2 queries. 1st why not just use regular 120mm film and crop down to give a panoramic image? Other than losing the sprockets (a fad that I don't like anyway) it gives the same effect. And 2nd why not just use a lens cap to block off the light at the end of the exposure? Must be easier than using a cloth. If you don't have one for that lens then buy one, they are usually cheap enough.
@Asmoc23

He said he has kodak vision3 500T in bulk and that's one way of making panoramic pictures. Why would he waste 120 film? :)
@pushingfilm
@pushingfilm Жыл бұрын
Good questions! 1- I wanted to try 500T specifically + using 120 is more wasteful + 35mm gives more shots. 2- I have also done that, but in fact it's more fiddly because a cap is fitted. Using the cloth covers the entire lens quicker with less chance of light coming in. I have plenty of 77mm caps and am aware of the cost 🙂👌🏼

damn, my 67 had the electronics issue and it wasn't like yours. The mirror would get stuck at 45 degrees and you'd be stuck on that exposure. I did end up getting it fixed. If you're ever interested there's a guy in Canada who specializes in pentax 67s. you can always dm me on IG for more info.

I got mine for a couple of hundred bucks, so I feel like it would end up costing way more than it's worth to post it away and have it serviced overseas! I might keep using it till it bothers me enough, and then maybe see if a local repairer can have a go at it 🙂It also seems to do it more in colder weather 😂
