Man, it's insane that you got those results! Great work. I also have an EOS 5 and never thought about trying colorplus due to the bad reputation it has (at least here in Spain) but I 'll give it a try. Thanks for your inspiring work!

This film really shines in bright sunlight. You are totally correct, it is horrible in dull light. I’m thinking this summer I will definitely be shooting a lot more colorplus.

Such a great video! Loved it! I’ll have to finally give in and try this stock myself. Super stoked now actually, thank you for the heads up, telling me where it’s limitations lie. Subscribed!

I have a tendency to overexpose this film by 1/3rd to a full stop and I get very good results. I use a Nikon N90s that I have had since 1998. It's never failed me once. However, I will also say that Nikon meters, even in digital have a tendency to underexpose about 1/3rd, to begin with, because they do all they can to salvage highlights due to negative information and therefore keeping highlights from blowing out. I have been producing on film for 24 years both 35mm and 120. Be glad to send you some samples of my work. :)

Thank you for the great information, and stunning sample photos of your results! I’m getting back into using film and I ordered 5 rolls, because I had heard good things, but I wasn’t sure if I should overexpose this film, and your video answered my questions! Keep up the good work!

nice work man and good discussion video , i picked up a nikon f100 and some colourplus 200, it costs $10 NZD per roll here in New Zealand. which is the cheapest option.

Nice photos. I've tried Kodak Colorplus 200 film several times. It's not bad, although I prefer Fuji C200 film - more forgiving, more consistent and still very good price

I had the same experience with cheap iso 200 films in general. I got great results when I started out with film, but than recently I shot about 10 rolls at iso 50-100 thinking I'll get the same effect as with shooting 120 Portra/NPS films at +1+2 but the results were pretty terrible. Not to mention a lot of shots were blurred because of the extra long shutter speed. Love your example shots both good and bad : )
@rowanpatrick_5 жыл бұрын
Thank you man, yeah I’ve found that cheap film has nothing on the higher grade films when it comes to pushing and pulling.

I shoot it at the box speed, exposure at +0, and I like the colors and saturation. It is really noisy when zoomed in or cropped.

You say the right thing. It is sad that for some portraits are associated only with the Portra.

And I agree with you except one thing is the photographer who makes the picture by the camera so if you are a mediocre photographer the picture will be bad

Amazing work! I am amazed at the sharpness of your images compared to my Fujicolor C200 photos. Do you scan the film yourself or send them to a lab for scanning?
@rowanpatrick_4 жыл бұрын
Lasse Andersen I get it scanned by a lab my man.
@deadxlife59774 жыл бұрын
Inconsistency in blues is a problem with your scanner, which usually automates the color channel balance based on it's perceived averages within the frame. The film never changes its behavior--but scanning color negative film is a complex task for a home use scanner, and it tends to cause a great deal of inconsistency, in my experience.

I once shot a roll of colorplus at box speed and the photos were almost completely black and awfully saturated. Do you know why this could be? I've thought about shooting it again and giving it +1.5-2 exposure compensation but i don't know
@rowanpatrick_5 жыл бұрын
Abdu Moukahal I don’t think the issue would be the film in your case. Make sure your cameras light meter function accurately. Sounds very much like an issue with your exposure or settings
