Steven ; hello , I have not purchased the rest of equipment to roll my own film , I saw this film in Bay , I will look again. Still learning my lovely 50mm F2 DR , and I have also procured 3 weeks ago the Rollei Wide 55mm F4. Right now experimenting with that unit to make certain the lens is as should be. My Wide Rollei is an F , but has features that top end E bodies had. Learning that right now too. Hoe you see this message. Chris . Now I enjoy learning more here , from you.

I like Double-X in D96 1+3, with 4 inversions at 3 min intervals. I think this development method increases the sharpness, and lifts shadows without blowing out the highlights. It works particularly well at ISO 600+. It also makes an already low-cost developer even more economical.

I wonder if I can mimic this film with Foma 100 if developed correctly. Foma has a tendency to blow highlights, so that is not going to be the same, but if exposed and developed correctly, I guess I could get close. I guess I have to experiment with this, Foma looks vintage and is less than half the price after all in Europe. :) I loved the Double-X grainy shadows which were not clipped as that can happen with my usual film of choice (HP5+) during wintertime. It'd be nice to have some latitude there.
