so maybe you want a k98 that diesnt have "blood on its hands" maybe you want that new old feel. maybe you want to tell people "they dont make em like they used to.... but they do now" kind of thing.
so these are 100% k98 new manufacture Mausers apparently all parts are cross compatible, they will come in 8mm Mauser for the patriots and .308 Winchester for people who want to be able to afford to shoot it! cooming to Canada and USA market at some point in 2023
enjoy

I’m not saying I’m disappointed, because I truly am excited that someone is making a .308 repro of the K98, but I wish there was a version of this with a disassembly disk in the stock, a mid-war buttplate, and a cleaning rod. Having those 3 features added would be incredible. That said, I’ll likely still try to get this one some day so I can plink as much as I want without possibly damaging a piece of history

There are immediately visible differences between a WWII k98 and this repro. The end of the bolt handle is not a full ball shape but has a flat on the bottom similar to a Kar98a from WWI. The notch in the stock for the bolt arm should be extremely shallow, almost nonexistent, not the deep groove extending all the way down to the finger relief cutout in the side of the stock. Where is the bolt takedown disc in the butt of the stock? Somebody isn't doing their homework...

Can Mauser 98 receivers be CNC machined? If you can CNC machine the parts and composite mold the traditional military Mauser stocks, theoretically costs should be astronomical since you avoid the issues of having to also replicate a gas system, which is the pitfall for new production M14 pattern rifles and other retro self loaders.

As a left-handed shooter, if you were to faithfully recreate a SMILE in left hand or a Mauser that would be amazing

I have a Federal Ordnance K98 in 7.62x51. Very cool and well made gun. I think I paid $400 for it about 5 years ago.

Would love to see a hybrid with an 03A3 type rear sight instead of the difficult to use barrel mounted contraption. That, combined with a blade front sight make an excellent back-up or truck gun....or up in my former homeland of Canada, a great survival rifle. Wish them only the best with this.

Yes, having the rear sight closer to your eye is much better.

Just get a Tikka then. This isn’t something made for practical use.

Sadly, that Tikka doesn't have the requisite claw extractor....that actually makes the case for the Mauser.

Oh my goodness! :) I have shot a K98 and boy do those guys kick hard using the original ammunition! How the Germans ever hit anything with them in the war I do not know because those aperture sights are *weird*.
