Koenigsegg CEO: “This Mini Motor DESTROYS ALL Cars”
Car engineers have a capability for designing incredible hypercars with mind-blowing horsepower figures. But this time, they've flipped the script with an electric motor that's smaller than a human head yet delivers a whopping 330 horsepower. Meet the Koenigsegg Quark E-motor, a revolutionary innovation that's shaking up the automotive industry. What sets this new creation apart, and why is Koenigsegg's CEO claiming it's more potent than traditional car engines? Join us as we delve into the groundbreaking technology behind this tiny yet mighty motor.
Before you say all-electric cars are boring, you should keep in mind that this is not an average electric motor. Koenigsegg has managed to create a motor that is not only powerful but also incredibly compact.
Matter of fact, they have made not one but two of these motors, the Quark and the Terrier. More interestingly, when these two motors are combined with a single inverter, a whopping 660 horsepower which weighs less than 85 kilos is generated. That can be likened to having a power-packed bundle that can be carried around in your backpack.

I would like to see a motorcycle with two of these motors integrated into the wheels.

Koenigsegg Dark Matter e-motor an 800 hp, 1250 Nm patent-pending Raxial Flux e-motor. With the Dark Matter e-motor fitted, the Gemera drivetrain is now lighter, has a smaller footprint and is more engaging. Dark Matter is also the world’s most powerful automotive-grade e-motor with 6-phase technology. Price? More than you could ever afford.

Be cool to put four of those motors on a 6 wheel truck, with a 427 turbo gas engine, giving ya 1320 hp on battery, and another 1100 hp on gas, giving the truck a massive 2420 hp,and that much TQ through 6 wheels..that would be a beast..

The electric motor is NOT the problem with EV's. It's the inability to store the power needed to drive it. No point having a 30kg electric motor, when you need 1,000kg of batteries.

This electric motor was designed by a graduate engineer from Oxford University in England. He sold a license to Koenigsegg and I think actually built their motors for them. His company has now been bought by Mercedes, who have announced their intention to use these advanced axial flux motors in their AMG hybrid cars. There are other companies that have developed and manufacture axial flux motors, mostly in Eastern Europe. Koenigsegg are claiming credit for a British engineers efforts. Shame on them.

Koenigsegg did use a YASA electric motor in one of its cars (and Ferrari, too, I believe) but more recent Koenigsegg cars have evidently used electric motors designed in-house. There is no governing patent on axial or radial flux motors. They have been made (not with a great deal of success in the case of axial implementations, until recently) for over a hundred years. While magnetic motors all rely on magnetic flux, there are lots of proprietary designs out there that employ novel implementation details. The domain has no overriding patent governing the operation of axially or radial flux motors. Contrariwise, the differences between motors made based on one design or another are significant enough to afford patent protection to many independent makers and suppliers of electric motors.

Hey if you ordered a stripped race model, you could save a extra 40-600 lbs and be faster, lol..maybe even more without ac and other comforts
