No he didn't, he always competes. Big B was more composed here and SRK looked nervous. You can see that in the initial part, he puts his hand on the couch and sways a bit to ease himself after big B's answers. Generally, SRK is the wittiest guy in the room but Big B stole the show here.

SRK is the king of overacting and is rightly sitting at home with biggest flops of the last 5-6 years where as Big B who is nearing 80 years is still rocking in films with 4 National awards

I'm sure that Big B would actually be very open to improv. He had to do it in the 70's and 80's. I've seen him talk about how the professionalism today is far ahead of when he was younger and it wasn't uncommon for the script to not even be done when he showed up on set. There were exceptions, like Salim-Javed films, but that was something he had to deal with.

I'm sure that thing about Improv is not true. It is Big B's preference and method to do it with script and full preparation but he has been known to work well with the actors around him. Piku is a great example of that. He has been a legend for so long now, I'm sure he can do improv brilliantly as well, given that he is also very witty and quick on his feet. Just that he has a method and prefers to use it.

I am sure Amitabh has done many improv scenes in his career... one that I remember reading about is the drunk scene with Amjad Khan (who plays Gabbar Singh in Sholay) in satte pe satta (sound is v different in that scene... perhaps for this reason...?)... I am sure many of his drunk scenes (and more) were improv/ad lib and at one point in time he had one in every film of his as the public loved them...

Yes Big B is sticks to the script mostly.. *but his moatbiconic scenes are improvs!!* The temple scene in Dewar.... the scrpt writers when they heard the tone and dialogues by big b were angry that this ia not how they had written it... but eventually big b's version was kept and thats the one thats most famous!! Another scene that you have reacted to "engkiah is a funny language commentory"its all his own words... he sticks and learns the scripts by heart and then improvs and takes it to the next level
