No matter your politics, when old people reflect and share their thoughts on current situations we the young ones should learn from it so we don’t repeat their mistakes. My takeaway is that we should be slow to react to situations so we can get enough information. Our hero’s of independence made big mistakes by using all our reserves to build factories instead of using quarter of it. This wisdom is applicable in our lives that you always have some money tucked away. I like how he explained the insults culture, Ghana cannot be like Europe within 4-8 years it’s not possible. Patience and understanding where we are and where we ought to be helps to determine if we are on the right path. Our leaders need to sit up because the anger can influence people to use wrong Antidote (coup). Law and order is key as the former president pointed out. Peace to him and the motherland.

He said something about the private sector. I agree with him. Every government should focus on the private sector to create more employment for people. In America here, the private sector dominates in the employment of the people. Successive governments should give incentives to the private sector to enhance massive growth to create jobs.
@anthonyyeboah68953 жыл бұрын
This is what Ghanaians are missing the plot. NPP believe in private sector whereas NDC is believers of social initiative. But for any developing country to grow you need the private sectors to propel development. Research shows that anytime npp is in power the foreign investment increase because the investor look at the belief of the party in power. Look at the current privatisation initiative of the current government and NDC social initiative of komenda factory. A word to the wise is enough. And patience is the key

Our type of democracy is our problem in Ghana. Even the way we select our president is not done anywhere in any advance country. Not in US not in Germany. We cannot use popular votes to elect our president. This makes them take popular decsison instead of good decisions. There is no Democracy in UAE but they are developing. Development happens only when there is discipline. There is so much indiscipline from the top to the bottom. As citizens we are so indisciplined.

@@majestica2474 don’t be in a haste to comment. Our sister OBAAPA said “if Kuffour had ruled Ghana for 20yrs “. Paul Kagame has been in power for 21yrs and counting whiles Kuffour ruled 8yrs and within that time apart from Kwame Nkrumah none of the Presidents can much his achievements. So this where OBAAPA’s question comes into play. Imagine he had ruled for 20yrs, Ghana would have been better than what it is now. Sometimes we need to digest questions and also analyse our comparisons.

@17:22 this man just dropped some information i never new. He said after independence just under 10 million population we used all our reserves. That’s a No no, no country can survive like that. To explain the magnitude of that mistake I will use Russia, despite all the sanctions against the country they have maintained impressive increases in their reserves that the west still can’t fathom how. Reserves are very important because without adequate amount you really don’t have sovereignty on paper you do but reality global credit agencies will control how much you can borrow then IMF and others tell you how to use it. Crazy beginnings for Ghana. But I blame today politicians for not being open enough to explain why we are where we are. Also blamed the British too for using us. Peace to the motherland
