I installed this toilet in 2008. It worked fine until 2018 when I found out no one knows how to fix these toilets. First of all, it is so heavy to lift the porcelain it takes 2 people, which is tough if space is small, so just getting to the mechanism is a back-breaking nightmare. It is difficult to diagnose what is wrong when it fails, and Kohler's diagnostics don't help in every case. In all of NY City, there isn't a single plumber who is a "Kohler Plumber", so they mostly refuse to even deal with these monsters. Kohler would refer you to "Kohler plumbers" that look to them not too far on the map in NJ or Long Island, but they refuse to drive to the City without charging a premium. Once you get a good plumber to agree to come and they succeed in lifting the porcelain, they are never sure what is going on and what to make of what they see - they just try and try. The problem is you have to try and then put the porcelain back to check and then take it off again etc. and that is simply impossible. I spent $2000 already in the past 6 months having 4 different honest plumbers try to fix this toilet, replacing every possible part. Next time it stops working I will replace it with a plain one - $6000 spent already on this toilet is insane.
