이분들 가수는 가수다 15:16 '사랑' 같은거 이부분은 내가 체념 부르는 날고 긴다는 가수들 부터 노래 잘부르는 일반인까지 수백명을 들어봐도 이 부분을 이렇게 부르는건 이영현 밖에 못봤다 이부분을 캐치하네...

세월이 흐르고 "빅마마"의 노래실력도 뭔가 여유로움과 풍성한 느낌이 되었어요. 초기 그녀들의 노래실력도 좋았지만 지금의 그녀들이 훨씬 아름답게 느껴지네요. 표정들에도 예전보다 편안함들이 보이네요 "소리"란 곡은 다시 모인 빅마마 분들의 마음이 담긴 곡 같아서 괜히 뭉클합니다.

their reaction to 신연아 did that insane lowkey run at 18:18 is EVERYTHING! most reactors focus on the two vocalists in the middle because they got the unique tone and the power belts but 신연아's vocals has that jazzy burlesque-y quality that you just don't find nowadays, and she has mad control over it. oh and did i mention she's the one writing the vocal arrangement for their songs! a vocal beast and a music theory queen wbk!

My Fourier thing about that bit as well as other parts where Shin gives us a low adlib, gives us the listeners a break to soak in the power that her other band mates showcase. It gives the overall performance such depth and we don’t feel overwrought

Big Mama is a legendary girl group that debuted in 2003 under M-Boat Entertainment. The agency is a sub-label of YG Entertainment, and the two music companies combined their synergy to produce a unique girl group. The group was known for focusing on its members' singing abilities rather than their looks. Contrary to the usual idols known to have three areas such as dance, singing, and rap, Big Mama challenged the K-pop industry with their vocals solely. The concept of the project girl group is to showcase their music abilities and potential, rather than focusing on visuals. Due to this, they are named "Big Mama," referencing to themselves as the "Big Women" among other idols who comply with Korea's beauty standards. Thus, they also debuted under the condition that no member should be allowed to have plastic surgeries. Despite their unconventional concept, with their appealing voices, overwhelming singing, and perfect harmony, they became popular. Big mama disbanded in 2012 and made a comeback last year. Now for the member in the same order the introduc themselves in the video. First : Shin Yeon-ah (tallest with the suit dressand bangs) she is the leader and the Eldest member of the group, married her long time boyfriend Alexandre Boschi (French) , who is four years her junior in 2006, who she met studying Jazz music in France in preparation for Big Mama in 2001. As far as public record shows they are still wed. She occasionally still releases songs for K-Drama soundtracks and still songwrites. - She studied French Literature at Inha University and School of popular music producing at Dankook University. - Formerly she was a chorus vocalist. - She is currently a professor at Howon University and She is the head of the university's K-pop department that was established in 2019. Second : Lee Ji-young (black dress and short hair ) and she has been quite busy since departing from the group, she is a vocal coach at Seoul Arts College, where she has been since applying and being accepted in 2013 and She contributes to drama soundtracks in both South Korea and Japan quite frequently - She studied Practical Music at Dongduk Women University. Third : Lee Young-hyun (white pants with black writing) she has stayed in the public eye but in a lesser compacity than during her time with Big Mama but still maintains a large spot in the Asian music industry. She has appeared in numerous Commercials, King of Kings on numerous occasions, then competing on "I Am A Singer", as well as releasing an song even for the Korean release of DC movie Suicide Squad. She participated in a multi artist project called the "Diva Project" in 2011, along side Lena Park and Sohyang. In 2014 her song Resignation gained popularity in Korea and Japan, She married her manager in 2013/2014 as well. - She studied Visual Music at Dong-A University of Broadcasting Arts. - She selected as one of the three major divas of South Korea in 2011. - Her nickname is ‘Lion Vocal’ - Netizens gave her ‘Thunder Elephant Singing’ nickname. - One of the biggest music divas Lena Park called her ‘Power vocalist’ Lastly tbe maknae : Park Min-hye (black&white suit) She debuted solo officially in 2014, after having solos on many of Big Mama's projects during their time with YG. The song “Resignation” was recorded as a solo song in Big Mama’s 1st album, a college graduation work that she made three days after her breakup in 2003. The song was a huge hit, and it was also the song that peaked at number one on the karaoke charts in the 2000s. In 2009, Lee Young-hyun re-arranged the song Her Resignation and included it on her own album, Her "Take It".

영어로 쓰려고 했는데 그냥 한국어 쓸게 BIG MAMA 대한민국 의 전설적인 살아있는 보물 가수야 . 저 사람들 노래는 부르기엔 매우 힘들지만 놀랍게도 많은 한국 여성들이 따라 부르기도해 한국인들은 노래를 잘하거나 , 춤을 잘추거나, 작곡을 잘하거나 리듬이 무엇인지 잘아는 민족이지.

This is why I tell people, if you can't stand in front of a mic and sing... Get out my face. This is singing. The industry no matter the nation can flash that commercial engineered vocal all they want... they can't achieve this meal. Big Mama were phenomenal. Great reaction ladies. *I'm trying to figure out how I know that solo song... it's gotta be a OST... my brain knows the melody.

I can used this video as an example as to why certain people cannot immediately emotionally connect to Idol music. I know it wasn't easy for me. It's because I am used to listening to music, where the music was different. And I am not talking about the language barrier either. I am used to entertainers SAAAAANNNGGGING and dancing.

@@mimiandy1683 I know what you mean. Many Idols have the vocal agility. They can deliver the vocal gymnastics I need. But they are very few and far inbetween. SM Entertainment is a Vocal Label, they train them. Even if they can sing they still take voice lessons to improve their craft. In the industry a Kpop group has at least 2-3 major singers... Trained well. Then the scale declines. It's all about image. I've watched some Korean reality song shows throw away beautiful vocal talent. They don't covet vocals, as do other nations. Image comes first, male or female. It's sad. That's why music is dying everywhere. Many don't know what real singing is supposed to sound like. It's work... hard work made to look easy. Kpop is fun, music genres merged together in one track. But when it comes to singing, if I can't put you on the Apollo stage and you can't blow.... It's a no for me.

Love love watching the British sisters! Best best reaction ever! Please have them react to other songs. So Hyang singing “I Have Nothing” is a really good one too. Lee Young-Hyun and So Hyang both have great vocals and have collaborated on a song before.

@@TheSlash4325 글쎄요 과거 2000년대 초반이면 몰라도 지금은 세계적으로 음악의 경계가 없는 수준이라 어릴때부터 빠르게 접하기는 물론 체계적인 교육과 수많은 정보를 손쉽게 획득하니 더이상 여타 흑인들만의 음악이라고 치부하던 장르들을 님 말처럼 완벽히 영혼까지 따라 할 순 없어도 완벽에 가까운 카피는 할 수 있단겁니다 좀만 더 지나면 아예 이런 소리가 안 나올 수 도 있겠죠

@@TheSlash4325 흠 너무 오리진에 대해서 선을 그으시는데.. 오리진 중요하죠.. 그치만 시간이 가면 갈 수록 그 의미가 퇴색 되기 마련이죠.. 예를들면 저도 순수 한국인 이지만 어릴때 부터 들었던 음악이 서양음악을 기준으로 한 대중음악 이였고 대부분 젊은 사람들이 그렇겠죠 당연히 아리랑,민요,판소리 같은 우리나라 전통음악은 관심 밖이고 접점도 학교 음악시간 교과서에서 배운거 말곤 없었죠 그래서 민요같은 옛 조상들의 한이나 얼 그런걸 이해 못하겠더라구요 그렇다면 제가 과연 한국인 이지만 한국 전통음악을 100% 이해 했다고 할 수 있을까요 흑인들도 마찬가지 일겁니다 요즘 흑인들이 예전처럼 노예 생활을 하면서 블루스 알엔비 재즈를 외치는건 아니잖아요 하지만 장르적으로 따질땐 아직도 흑인 소울류 장르가 세계적으로 유명하고 깊게 자리 잡았으니 원래 있던 유전자의 흥이 계속 가겠지만 그게 저들과 우리의 입장 차이고 이게 엄청 중요한 차이인게 맞지만 제가 말하고 싶은건 갈수록 그 격차는 줄어들거라는 겁니다 '음악'이라는 관점 하나로만 본다면 불과 몇년 전까진 상상도 할 수 없었던 빌보드 1위를 bts가 해냈고(음악성,실력 다 떠나서 어찌됐든 가장 이름을 알린) 갈수록 우리나라 아티스트들이 세계적으로 인정을 받는다는것 입니다 다시한번 말하지만 지금 당장 격차를 없앴다는게 아닙니다 우리는 생각 외로 빠르게 거리를 좁혔고 앞으로 더욱 좁힐거라 믿습니다

@@TheSlash4325 마지막으로 음악에 대한 열정이 많으신거 같은데 저도 음악을 전공 했었습니다 그래서 누구보다 현대 음악의 모든 근본이 되는 클래식,백인음악,흑인음악 의 위대함과 넘을 수 없는 느낌을 압니다 그치만 넘지 못 할 이유도 없죠 시대는 변하니까요 정정하겠습니다 사실 '완벽'한 카피는 없습니다 애초에 음악에 '완벽'은 필요 없으니

13:24 반응이 재미있으셔서 답글을 안 할수가 없었어요. 체념이 나온 당시(2009년) 전국적으로 여자들의 애창곡이 "체념"이기도 했고 도전곡으로 "체념"을 많이 불렀었죠. 이 노래를 잘 부르면 진짜 노래를 잘한다고 인정을 받게되니까 많이 불렀던것같아요. ㅎ 남자들은 버즈의 "겁쟁이" 나 임재범의 "고해" 를 도전곡으로 많이 불렀고, 여자들은 빅마마의 "체념" 또는 소찬휘의 "tears" 가 유명하죠. 그래서 제 결론은.... 한국 사람들은 가창력이 뛰어난 것 같긴해요. ㅋㅋ 이런 노래들을 도전곡으로 부르면 실력이 안 늘수가 없겠죠? 그러나 꾸준히 불러도 못하는사람도 많답니다. ㅋ

FYI, they all have over 20-30 years singing experience together. A few of them are Professors in Music at Korean Universities. They are well seasoned and only came back out to have fun. Pure gold in their harmony and voices.
