My chow (gone but never forgotten) looked just like this as a puppy only he was black. His name was Roosevelt after President Teddy Roosevelt and the Teddy Bear. He looked like bear cub honestly he did. I would take him through McDonalds drive thru and get him a Happy Meal and a baby ice cream cone. Dogs are incredible and really do steal your heart!

We had chows when I was very young -- early elementary school age. A male and a female named Fu Chang and Su Ling respectively. They were VERY protective of us. Whenever we had visitors, my parents had to literally escort the people from their cars to the house and back; otherwise, the dogs would eat them up! Most of the houses around us were burglarized, but not ours. The dogs kept any intruders at bay. However, they were nothing but gentle and loving towards my parents and me. GREAT DOGS!

Beautiful puppy

I had a half chow as a teenager.his name was Benji.after the Benji movies of the 70s.he was red and all fur. Adorable.... My husband chow was named Midget. She was the runt of her litter. Almost all chow. I think he said she had little bit of beagle in her background. She could hear him coming home in any rig we had from at least a half a mile out. She'd do a little jig. And a make little whimper sound. She was also red.

My white chow had OCD. Didn't like getting his feet dirty. Loved him tremendously.

My last Chow (3-2) got stuck in the gate and choked chasing after a bitch in heat when I was working out of town. Or so I was told by the people I left him with. I still wonder about that. I should have taken him with me. That was one of the smartest dogs I ever had. I got him because of my other Chow (Bear) we use to have when I was in high school was super loyal and extremely smart. You only had to tell them 1 time and they learn quickly. They can be stubborn some times and look at you crazily. When they bark get the gun because they only bark when some one is doing something they shouldn't be. 3-2 had the cable guy hanging from the top of the fence one time trying to spray my dog with pepper spray. He woke me up ferociously barking at the stupid cable guy and when I saw him spraying my dog I got my Mossberg a scared the shit out of the cable guy. I told him you see our cars in the yard, knock on the door. The meter man use to purposely leave the gate open and 3-2 would never leave the yard he'd be in the driveway waiting on one of us to come home, guard the whole house like a solder! I had another chow that keep a water moccasin from biting me when I was little. It was a puppy and he shredded that snake, but he got bit in the process and died a week later. And that's why I will never deal with any other type of dog!

My chow died yesterday that's y Im obsessed watching vids she's white too. I miss her so much. She's aggressive to everyone but she's sweet to me. I'm at her side since in the beginning but I didn't make it to be her side at her final moment. I'm so sorry, mom came so late my baby.
