Kok Tobe (Kazakh: Көктөбе Kök Töbe - "Blue Hill"; Russian: Кок-Тюбе, Kok-Tyube) is a mountain in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city. Kók Tóbe Park, a popular recreation area, is on top of the mountain. The mountain's height is 1100 meters above sea level. Kok Tobe is one of the main landmarks in the city, and it is popular among visitors and tourists to Almaty.
Kok-tobe, is located just in Almaty city and very popular among tourists. You can get there by cable car road which is rather expensive, by walk or by special small buses. But taking the cable car to the top worth it. This is great place to visit, especially in the evening to see the sunset. A few restaurants and fast food joints. It’s just a nice area to walk around and enjoy the views.
Kok Tobe working hours
The cable car road works all week long from 10 in the morning till 12 at night. Only on Tuesday it starts working from 15 p.m. till 12 p.m.

One Way:
Adult: 3000 Tenge (Rs 535)
Child: 1500 Tenge (Rs 267)
Round Trip:
Adult: 5000 Tenge (Rs 892)
Child: 2500 Tenge (Rs 446)

Hey 😊 As per my knowledge in march, the temperature in Astana will be around 0 to -2 degree, so do carry some good warm clothes. Also if you are vegetarian then you might find difficulty to find veg food, do carry some packed food along with you. In kazakhstan, it is visa free country for indians for upto 14 days. You only need return flight ticket or if you traveling to other country you must have visa of that country. Also you should have advance hotel booking which they might ask you at immigration . Also in kazakhstan use more of public transport as it is very cheap, though taxi rates are also not very expensive.

We 3 will be visiting Almaty in December. For city tour and Charon Canyon tour, Yandex taxi will be good or we should take seperate bus tour?

Hey 😊 For a city tour you can take a taxi by yandex go, but for the canyon tour it's better to book a tour from some travel company. It will cost you much cheaper and the experience will be much better than traveling alone. I am gonna share all the details, in my upcoming video on how to book the tour, places that will be covered, prices and all other details.

And about hotel bookings, we stayed at 46 2 Karmysova service apartment which is very near to the city centre. So you can check that property. If you are a solo traveler then you can stay at Wanderlust hostel. Both links I have mentioned in the video description.

Hey, No, i haven't seen any shop offering clothes rental facilities. But if you need to buy warm clothes then buy them from the green market, there you will find clothes at a very cheaper price.

Hey 😊 Total cost totally depends upon person to person. And major expenses are flights tickets and hotel booking. Earlier return flights from Delhi to Almaty were coming for Rs 8000 approx so if you get this deal again then it will get huge impact on total cost. Also if you stay in hostel then it will cost you around Rs 800-1000 per day. Public transport is very very cheap, so use more of that. Although taxi prices are not so expensive. Day tours like canyon tour and tickets for other tourist spot like shymbulak and kok tobe are also very nominal. Coming to the food, if you eat at a budget restaurant then it will cost you very around 200-250 per meal. Hope this will help you in planning your trip.
