Actually, Muzan does fear Kokushibo a bit because he could make Muzan's nightmares come true. If he ever escaped Muzan's control, he would be able to get even more potential and then actually defeat Muzan in a battle since he's Yoriichi's twin brother and also the 2nd highest ranked Demon Slayer to exist

Kokushibo could easily beat muzan If he got out of his control and trained some more, and I'm pretty sure if he did become more human and joined the demon slayer corps, he could be able to walk around at day(assuming the real cure of being in the sun isn't just sun breathing, but also being more human.) And maybe kokushibo could even learn sun breathing with the help of tanjiro at that point.
