kak dela Vostorgina? thank you for posting these beautiful liturgical music. May the Almighty God be praised. May Holy Russia rise as a witness for Christ and His Church to the entire world. Greetings from Roman Catholics in India. We are very strengthened by the Russian Orthodox Church and her brave proclamation of the Gospel through her prayers and her liturgical music. Most Holy Virgin Mary, protect your children in India, Russia and the entire world. Спасибо Vostorgina.

This is an Old Church Slavonic Hymn used at Communion time in the Orthodox Church, too. Certainly is quite the solemn, and prayerful tune, indeed.

It's also used in the Finnish Orthodox church...

This song is widely known and used in churches in Estonia, including the baptists, methodists and Lutheran church. A traditional hymn. "Ma kummardan Sind, armuvägi, mis Jeesuses end ilmutand. Ma astun armastuse ligi, mis põrmu peale halastand. Mu oma mõtted ära kaovad ja armumerre üksnes vaovad."

There are no athieists in foxholes. The overwhelming number of Russian soldiers, like soldiers in all other armies, fought for their comrades and country, not for any political ideology. I am so glad that Christians can openly practice their faith in Russia once again without repercussions. God bless all those who kept the Faith for these many years. May they rest in peace.

A shame? Au contraire! Some of the strongest believers that I know are soldiers, whilst some of the greatest cowards I know are unbelievers... be careful how you express yourself! It is good that this song is linked with the military and soldiers... r. b. Vostorgina

this one, Abenglocken and also Motonone rings the bell, I frequently listen to them in dimmed light with my headphone on. It just goes through marrow and bone.....unbelievable..thanks to my dad for singing in a choir, otherwise I just wouldn't have bothered.

Excellent and perfect blend of all voices with the wonderful and deep basso profundos holding the foundation and the tenors floating above in fine tone filling the atmosphere with angelic spirits.

I am singing this in Russian chorus I think, Anyway it has the same title and the first part of the lyrics do seem the same, it has such a fluffy wonderful sound as if you were drifting over those waters if you were joined with the military, you would fluffed up like a proud sparrow, zooming to the destination so clear and beautiful...

Amazing how Russia, one of the most devout and conservative Christian nations could become an athiest state. It does not surprise me that many people now return to God, a very good thing. I loved USSR, but not its views of religion.

This hymn is just magnificent and powerful... I absolutely LOVE it! All Christians, no matter if Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant or whatever, should know this hymn... The melody is quite well known in Russia's neighbour countries, too. Like my country, Finland...

You sure? According to the Ruthenian Byzantine Divine Liturgy Hymnal, the English Translation shows as follows: So great is God in power and glory, No mortal tongue can ever proclaim. So great His throne and power sublime, No mortal mind can ever contain. The one true God, We worship with love, Brighter than sun, More splendid than stars above.

Seeing the pictures of the priests and the russian soldiers. I wonder if any one went to check and see if Lennin was spinning in his glass coffin in red squire.

Прекрасный гимн, но видеоряд - сильно сильно диссонирует. Лучше бы старинные фотографии царской эпохи, дух которой передает великий гимн великого человека великой эпохе.

In here it's mostly known with very patriotic lyrics by a Finnish poetist A. Roos ... If I remember correctly, the history says that the Russian Czar ordered this melody to be sung in the Finnish "riksdag"...

@geraldrim: Great song, no idea what you're on about. If you don't like Russian soldiers, that's your problem, not the author's.

"I pray to the power of Love " is the right translation for the german text, Please - Politicans make war, not Soldiers. Capitalism sucks. Preachers blessing weapons - that´s a shame.. I think almost everybody wants to live in Peace. Have talked with veterans coming back from Afghanisthan - they got now great problems now in real life, Nightmares aso

What a shame to link this marvel to military, same fault as the german army that sings this song in their ceremony "Zapfenstreich" with german translation "Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe" "I pray for the power of love) !?!
