The video presentation was excellent. You have demonstrated sympathy and care for the likely victims of overpricing dealership mechanics. I never thought of doing it myself. After viewing the video, I ordered the cheaper version. I followed step by step guide but got stuck with freeing up the latch as it was not touched in over two years. But after that it was a breeze. Everthing went perfect. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Just replaced both tailgate latch mechanism, couldn't have done it without the help of your video. Took me about 1.5 hours to complete the job but saved myself $560 in the process. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback and glad it helped. Trickiest bit has got to be working out how to unlatch while the lower tailgate is up. Let us know if we can help with getting you the limiters to help prolong the life of the new latches you’ve just installed.

@@trev2417 Hi, just responded to your other comment, in case you miss it, you can find the limiters from the following link. However please note if your latches have already failed the fitment of the limiters won't repair the failure. ebay.us/9ap1Eo?cmpnId=5338273189

Thought I had this issue, but on inspection I found out that the little plastic part that secures the cable to the body just under the handle had broken off😊what a result. One cable tie and it’s holding good. Thanks for the video on dismantling the tailgate though or I wouldn’t have had the know how to get in there. 👏👏👏

Thanks for the feedback Trevor! We are Melbourne based and you can purchase the plastic limiters from the following link ebay.us/9ap1Eo?cmpnId=5338273189 These limiters are a custom made part we've come up with to overcome the premature failure of the poorly designed latches.

Hi, thanks for the useful video. Same problem with my 2014 Koleos - a dealer in Melbourne quoted $472 for the replacement LH/RH locks. Can I do better? BTW I'm located in Auckland, New Zealand. Cheers.

Likely would have been replaced under warranty, but good luck once out of that period

Thanks. Too complicated for me, i'm afraid. All this work to replace two obviously fragile pieces of plastic... with the risk of getting stuck with an unclosed hatch. The conceptors of these cheap contraptions should be sued!

Guys love you vid and would love to support you by buying those limiters, but AUD$52 for a couple of pieces of silicon? Seriously? Just a tad too Renault rich pricing for me. Pretty sure you'd sell them to everyone in the world doing this repair IF they were proportionately priced. Nevertheless thank you for the vids.
